Comment:
Really dull classes, but I'm not going to college to be entertained. Perfect attendance is a must, because he often changes the day he has "classwork" Most of the grade is based on showing up and getting assignments in on time. Always read the instructions on all his tests, he thinks it's "clever" to slip in an extra bit for the quiz

Some people say that Dr. Watson makes the sheep jump over the fence and it should be called zzz 151, but I really liked him. Very helpful and nice. Gives you a bunch of extra credit, so if you don't get a passing grade just join the sleep club.

Instructor Watson does a good job. He's clear and conscise. Available for questions or helping students. Its clear he wants you to learn. Lots of opportunity for bonus points is a plus. We all have bad days, those just make up for it. However, after CS151, program in C really isn't used in other courses (yet).

Sterotypical CS Prof. Unsocial, pale, and extremely smart. After taking this class I changed my major. After coming to this realization that OSU uses Gary to weed out unworthy CS wannabees, I am back in CS.

This can be a tough class, but as long as you get perfect scores on your programs you'll do fine. Don't be afraid to ask the teacher for help, he is always willing to look over your program.

Sure he was a little boring at times, but overall he was a good instructor. I never saw C programming before this class, and it was an easy A. He give *SO* many chances for extra credit you really have to be lazy to fail. I would recommend this class to others.

I had never fallen asleep in class before in my life.....that said, I never made it through the first half an hour of his lecture without falling asleep all term. The last 2 programs were almost impossible to understand.

He is very boring like all the other people said. And if you have no prior program experiences, this class will be very miserable for the second half of the class. I worked by behind off just to pass the class.

hate this guy, now he puts in stupid clickers so you get points for being in class, that is if you're not asleep from his extremely boring lectures. Class not worth the time, read the book, do ec. and he throws in random unorthodox bad programming examples and questions on the tests.

Monotone thats all I have to say...Gary has by far the worst monotone of any person I have ever met before. He will either a.) bore you to death within 30 seconds b.) put you to sleep or c.) make you skip every single day. He knows his stuff really well and its a cake class but the monotone augh.

The guy sounds like AL Gore. He's smart but damn he's got the lecture intensity of an f-ing lullaby. I had some programming exp and this class is an EASY A. <50% attendance & no studying.

Very booring teacher. No need to go to class. If you have ever taken a programming class it is an easy A without going to class or reading the book. If no programming experience an easy B, A if you put a little effort in.

Class is so boring, I finally stopped going. Programming assignments written vaguely and hardly related to the text--the TAs save my programming grades! If you aren't a computer nerd, good luck!

This course was a bit too easy at times, but then again I write Linux kernel drivers :-). The course overall is a good introduction to the material but is a little dry at times. Watson is pretty entertaining and a nice guy if you talk with him.

Incredibly boring. First time I've EVER fallen asleep in class. He has a Ph.D. in Physics...the physics department is missing an opportunity here. He should not be teaching a CS course.
