Comment:

Absolute no clear grading criteria and never post any solution for any assignment. The worst thing is that he grades you based on your background such as what school have you graduated from and who taught you before. During the class, he keeps reading off his note and writing them on the board, and what you did is to keep copying what he wrote.

He is a very subjective maker and doesn't have clear grading criteria on the projects. He doesn't talk much about the substantial course materials for the entire class BUT he does keep talking something else. Most of time, you just need to copy his ppt. The course projects are pretty the same for every year. It isn't worthy to take it with him!

He's got good intentions , he lets you know what type of questions will be on both midterms but be warned his lecture style is not adequate and will catch up with you on the final exam. You cannot learn math or statistics but reading them off a PowerPoint slide like he does In class, you have to fully understand the topic by doing doing questions

Easy class. Gives you the tests before the tests!!! (Tells you what's going to be on them like example questions and they appear exactly like he said). Online assignments are easy (just enter wrong answer and will give you the right answer and the question stays the same). Very nice prof, go to class and learn how to do the questions and it's an A.

Gemai's accent is hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. Attending class is a MUST but if you do he is very clear on what he wants, and tells you specifically what to study. He lets you make your own formula sheet too. Easiest class I've taken so far at UofC. Didn't even do practice questions.

I can't understand a thing he says during lectures, i just go because he won't post the slides on d2l. He basically plays the powerpoint and waits for you to copy it down and then mumbles a couple of lines about the slide. however he did make the assignments infinite tries and gives answers so 100% on every assignment guaranteed.

He is a good prof in terms of easiness. He tells you what questions are on the midterms and the final. You pretty much only need to learn the basics of each concept. On the other hand, his lectures can be very boring. He doesn't really go through questions with you, he just shows them to you.

He is honestly the best statistics professor. I don't understand why ppl are complaining..He tells you everything that will be on the midterms and exams, couldn't be more clear. His notes are good also, and I don't find him hard to understand. There are much worst out there. He also cares about his students and want them to do well

Is basically a self-learn class. Can't understand him, is lectures are directly off a powerpoint, and he doesn't use BlackBoard so you must go to class or read the textbook. I would suggest reading the textbook, it's more helpful. On top of that, the quizzes are not so bad, but the midterm and final will drop your grade drastically

A really great prof!Agree that he can be boring at times but the course material is boring in itself.He really want you to do good in class and is redy to help at all times.He tells you whats important so make sure you concentrate on it.Reading the textbook is a MUST!He does have an accent but youll get used to it in a week or so.overall good prof!

Dr. Chen is a great prof! I don't get why he is rated so low. He knows what concepts to emphasize on,, really cares about his students, and most importantly, questions on his midterms are practically given away (he literally go over each question during the review lecture before midterms), plus you are allowed to bring your own formula sheet!

I don't understand why Gemai Chen was rated so low, hes an awesome prof that tells you specifically which practice questions he went through in class to review for the quizes.
