Comment:
Dr. Talbert is a very nice guy outside of class, but is WELL past his prime in terms of teaching and leading a classroom. All of his assignment's fall under the "busy work" variety. He offers very LITTLE perspective on teaching and working with students. I had him for 3 hours on a Monday night a very slow death indeed. Easy A if you can stand it.

Comment:
Those who have said that Dr. Talbert should retire are correct. While he is personable enough, with a wry sense of humor, he is also monotonous and often obtuse. He is easily disoriented and drones on endlessly about trivial minutiae. This course would be more effective in the hands of a younger professor. He should take his well-earned retirement.

Talbert needs to retire. Smile pretty and do the trival work; you'll get the A. Don't expect to learn anything. Oh, he doesn't check email, so don't bother sending him one.

This is the worst class I took at TTU. It was very boring, and he did not teach! It was a waste of my time!! Someone else should teach this class because it could be fun and interesting. YUCK!

I learned what NOT to do in an educational setting. He is the most boring teacher I have ever encountered. He forgets what he's talking about and has a difficult time answering questions. The man can't even work a VCR. This was an easy A though, but what else would you expect from an education class. They'll give any idiot an A.

Excellent professor! He is very well educated, has a lot of experience in his field and very open minded. You will learn many valuable techniques about how to teach middle school and how middle schools are organized. The only down side is having to outline the book chapters, which is kind of a pain.

Dr. Talbert is a nice guy... he is VERY well learned, and has a lot of good information. You will learn a variety of teaching mehtods for his class and he tried to keep it interesting. You will outline every chapter, but at least you'll have read the book

If I remember correctly there were several times we had to get the paddles out on this guy to bring him back to life. He's informative but can make you want to take bullet in the head. Boring.

Very educated. I learned alot in his class. He is very interesting to talk to. If you have any questions, he is the one to ask because he has been there, done it, and has the T-shirt.

If I didn't have to take this class I wouldn't. Easy A but it would be less boring to listen to life history of a snail. Avoid this class if you can.

After you get to know him, he really isn't that bad. Part of learning is diggin into the material and finding things on your own. He's a good guide, but in teaching you have to make your own way. Take advantage of his wisdom while he's here!
