Comment:

This is one of the most caring teachers I have ever had. I learned so much about writing, but more than that, I learned how to learn from reading. I wish he was teaching more face to face instead of online.

He is a terrible grader. He does not understand how to read. He tells you to revise your paper, but he hurts your grade instead of helping it. If I am being honest, he needs to hang it up.

I took the class online during the summer. The only form of communication is email. He takes a week or longer to reply to emails and replies with vague answers. His feedback is unreliable, if you do poorly on an assignment there is no explanation as to why you received that grade. He seems to care more about a paycheck than the actual students.

I took his class online, I had no problems! just do the assigned work and the grades will follow. Not hard at all, the material in the book guided you on the homework assignments.

His grading is inconsistent and not thorough at all, he doesn't tell you what you have done wrong. He only tells you to go to the writing center, and even they are lost at times with what he wants in an essay. His website is confusing and its hard to find what he wants you to write. Bottomline, do not take his course. Worst Professor i've had.

I took Dr. Grimes flex term online hybrid course. He is a tough grader & the lectures are very long. We don't even use the notes we take in class. He also wanted us to purchase this thing for MyWritingLab, but we never used it. So I would not recommend taking him.

Online Tech Writing flex Course. Do NOT take online. Grimes is VERY unorganized and lost many of my assignments submitted through email. He didn't grade anything until the drop date! Beware, many assignments are long and tedious. I felt like I was just guessing on how to do many of the assignments. Take the class in person, not online.

Dr. Grimes is passionate about teaching. He's really nice. However, he doesn't seem too organized and didn't follow the syllabus. He does however let you revise assignments until the end of the semester. I found his class challenging because I am a very organized person and his class was the opposite, but I did manage to get an A.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Complete waste of time and energy. It does not matter how hard you work he is completely unorganized and unorthodox. He grades every assignment LATE and doesn't explain how to fix the failing work. Only cares for students who enjoys his magic tricks and bazaar stories. If you want to pass DO NOT TAKE.

He's also very opinionated and severely self absorbed, could not get through a single class session without him reminding us he does magic tricks.

Dr. Grimes was a joy! I really liked his lecture class and he always kept you informed. Plus you were able to revise all assingment until the very last day of class. that was great and I finished with an A. He is very understanding but will not take you trying to play him. I heard not to take the online class but I can understand that he is older.

Comment:

Took Tech Writing Class during a 3 wk May Semester. Class was very easy although the instructions on the assignments were not quite clear. The examples in the book are crucial. The class is definitely worth it because it is extremely easy.
