Dr. Arnold wrote the book for this class. Literally. His depth of knowledge in grammar as well as his understanding of journalistic ethics made him a great and trusted resource for pretty much any working journalist, from cub reporters to editors and publishers. I was incredibly fortunate to have been one of his students.

I studied under Dr. Arnold from 80-84. I am the Executive Entertainment Editor/Marketing Director at an international music/entertainment magazine. Dr. Arnold is the sole influence on the kind of writer I have become. It's on the top of my bucket list to reunite with him and have my photo taken with him holding my magazine. I deeply respect him.

By his strict "one letter grade off for each misspelled word" policy, he set the bar high and instilled professionalism into my writing.
