Comment:
I had him for CHM 372. Textbook isn't needed, but I recommend buying his lecture notes from the bookstore. The way he 'curves' the course is unique, but is much more forgiving than a typical distribution curve where everyone ends up with a C. He's a nice guy overall, just don't slack off in his class, or you'll regret it. Get help when you need it.

He is a pretty interesting guy, and he's pretty funny. The homework assignments are rather difficult at times. Going to class is absolutely not needed because you can buy a book that he wrote that includes ALL of this lecture notes. Just read the book, and you'll be fine--you definitely won't pass the exams without reading his lecture note book.

He was okay but it seemed as though he tried to make the information harder than it really was. If you read the book (his book, ironically), you'll be okay.

Really, I learned nothing from this professor. He also does not respect your time, spending at least 3 to 4 minutes lecturing after the period has ended...worthless.

His lectures are pretty much summarized in the book (which he wrote), except he does some fun demos and has a lot of funny anecdotes. Labs are long and he really tries to test almost the whole range of what you've learned in his class. Still, you can pull at least a B as long as you study hard. Only big downside is that exam is same day as lab.

One of my favourite professors this term. Good at explaining concepts, and funny during lectures also :). Tests weren't hard in my opinion, if you go to lectures.

Wears the same outfit everyday. Drives a motorcycle. Labs take forever but the tests aren't bad if you actually do the optional homework.

Kept lecture interesting with his stange references and anecdotes (Buckaroo Bonzai anyone?). Cool in-class experiments. Tests aren't too difficult. And he wears the same shirt EVERY DAY. Odd.

Great professor with really interesting lectures. Buy his lecture notes--very helpful--and bring them to class and read them while he is giving the lecture--its kind of funny because its almost verbatim. Class is pretty easy if you pay attention, he gives away test questions*Exceptions to the norm*

Words cannot tell the tale of this class. Lectures are the most interesting part with (finally) philosophy included in the scientific principles. The tests are also reasonable with plenty of time given. His labs can be somewhat cryptic and "out of the box" on occasion - get this guy at all costs.

Bodner is a pretty cool teacher. His chem lectures are very historically minded, but his sense of humor is greatly appreciated early in the morning.

Dr. Bodner is a joy to listen to in lecture. He gives you the lecture notes in a packet if you can't keep up with his elevated musings on P-chem and the tests aren't half bad.

Bodner is by far the best chemistry professor at Purdue University and arguably in the country. He is funny, clear, and polite. He does far more demos than any other professor and obviously he has fun teaching. His passion makes the course fun.
