I like that Boudreau clearly had a passion for history and loved teaching. He was meant to teach college History. I could have done with out the arrogance, bad jokes, and endless rants about the state of the world.

Comment:

Attendance will either help your grade or bring your grade down dramatically. Very fair teacher, and is always there to give extra help. Lectures are long, and he doesn't put notes on slides, so listen and take good notes. Do the readings he assigns and you will get a good grade. He gives a study guide for the tests, so do them!!!

Not for dullards and cruisers. If you are a loser, you'll remain one. This man makes history come alive. He's fun, he's amazingly articulate and knowledgeable. He's what you'd expect at UVA or that level school. Do the work, enjoy the ride, and find that you want more history! Too bad we lost him.

Comment:

Had him my spring semester '14 for a few weeks since he got into some sort of accident. when i actually had him, he wasn't the greatest teacher. he flew through the slides and would ramble on and on and made it unclear what was important to know and what wasn't. Thank goodness we got a replacement who made the class 10x's easier.

This class was difficult. He lectures every class, along with PowerPoints. He talks fast and goes fast through the PowerPoint slides which makes it difficult to take notes. Read along in the textbook because he references it in some classes and exams. Read the novels for essay questions on exams. He is not very helpful but grades pretty fairly.

He is difficult if you don't go to class. His classes are disorganized, but his power points are helpful and informative if you write down all of the information. His tests are worth a lot and require that you do the reading outside of class for the essay. He knows a lot and helps you when he's not busy, but expects a lot from students.

A very Challenging class but worth it. Politically we didn't see eye to eye at ALL but I still found the class engaging and by far one of the best History classes I've had yet. Boudreau will be as nice to you as you deserve. Do your work, participate, and persist and youll be his best friend. Don't read, study, or attend you get the point

I could never tell what to write down. Made us read the entire book from cover to cover. falls behind all the time and rushes to catch up. his tests would be on many chapters in the book but your tested on 10 random vocab words he probably didnt mention in class. I didnt like history to begin with and I sure still dont have an interest

Comment:

Very hard and kinda all over the place. Notes almost impossible to take. A lot of reading assignmens besides the 3 chapters a week from the textbook. I think he is a very fair grader and appling effort and speaking up in class helps. Get him to know your name.
