Comment:

I had the blessing to have this passionate Man for both theory 3&4. Classes separate the strong passionate and dillegent students from the weak. He was THE most passionate professor I had the privilege in the dept of Music at RIC. Sometimes you cry, or want 2 jump the bridge, however, It's SO worth it! Thank you for the music and inspiration!

Professor Mack has the deepest passion and understanding for music, and works with the greatest passion in order to share his knowledge and love of music with his students. He can be difficult to deal with at times, but anyone would be hard pressed to find anyone else who is of this caliber. He has my deepest respect.

Professor George Mack does not know how to relate to students. If you ask a question he will yell at you because he expects you to know the answer. If you are even 30 seconds late he will slam his fist on the table and say "you must be on time". Hard to follow what he is saying and accuses you of cheating if you do well. Don't take this class.

Passion and dedication do not mean good teaching. Mack was a derogatory teacher; nothing he had to say was nice. He was nothing but the rudest, most disrepectful teacher I've ever had the displeasure of "learning" from. He may be a musical genius, but this was not tranfereed in his teaching methods. Horrible teacher, horrible experience

expects every student to learn to his or her fullest ability. Put in the time and DO ALL THE HOMEWORK! Is always ready to help with one on one meetings if you honestly want to learn. Passionate about his subject and really an amazing person once you get to know him! Dont be intimidate, stick out theory 3 no matter what. One of my favorite teachers.

Took this class as an elective, expecting an easy A. By the end of the semester only 5 students were left from the original 30, it was so demanding. But this was one of the best classes I ever took. I can't overestimate how much I learned and how much passion and dedication Mack brought to the class. NB he marks down for missed classes.

This is one of the best classes I've ever had, and Prof. Mack has got to be one of the most devoted teachers at RIC. I learned alot. This is a useful class, maybe more than theory or music history. Now I can listen to Haydn and not fall asleep.

With this or any class that he teaches he can sometimes be a bit disorganized, but the knowledge and the passion are there and it is evident. He wants nothing more than to pass it on to his students and for them to be as well informed as possible. He is always ready to aid and encourage and he hates seeing students fail.

I don't believe that it is good instructional technique to talk during quizzes, cut the students off, and tell the students they can't do it anyway so why try? It is certainly not good technique to compare students to other students! I will not tolerate that. . He may be a good person outside of class, but I can't handle the emotional breakdowns.
