Lectures are fun, he's an old school style of blackboard teaching that's refreshing. The tests are heavy and do require memorization (Cladistics) but that means they're quick to do. Don't bother with the book, lab is handed completely over to a grad student and depending you may have to do a lot of your own studying there.

Interesting ClassMaterial and a passionate professor, but by no means an easy A. Your grade is based on 3 exams, all put on a nice curve together, but the exams can be difficult for some due to the fact that they are filling in cladograms and matching. If you are not a strong visual learner or not great at memorizing, steer away from this class.

Amazing professor. Extremely knowledgeable, fantastic lecturer, overall nice guy...you can't go wrong. Dinosaurs was an amazing class. There is a lot of memorization on the exams but everything is completely straightforward and fair. Good grading curves. McGee is one of the best I've seen at Rutgers. Take his class.

This teacher is so cute because he is so passionate about dinosaurs. This class requires alot of memorization of cladograms, definitely buy the lecture topic book. The textbook is only used for the anatomy but other than that reading is not necessary. Do not overestimate this class but if you study hard you'll be sure to get an A.

Don't take just for a GPA booster. There is a curve but there are MANY students who get poor grades on the exams because they don't study. STUDY and do not "wing" it or skim notes = screwed. Interesting and a nice laid back class but you have to put some effort into it! :)

Such a cute professor! Prof. McGhee really knows what he's talking about & b/c he's so interested in dinosaurs you can't help but become interested in them too! Lectures are interesting and helpful; helps you follow along with his lecture topic book. I attended some classes when I could but it was too early for me to go to every lecture. (cont..)

don't be a dummy like me and only buy the textbook. it's useless. he tells you to read it before the exams, but you really don't need it. buy his lecture topics because that's where the exams come from. if you're not going to buy the lecture topics, make sure you go to every class and take exquisite notes.

hes SO passionate about dinosaurs. lectures ARE interesting, but something about the way everything comes together; maybe it's that his voice is soft and muffled within the huge lecture hall, plus the light buzzing of air coming from above. the setting will knock you out faster than a nyquil OD. especially when the lights go out for PP presentation

Very easy class if you study. You can study the night before and still get an A. 3 exams non-cumulative, even final. Cladograms are 90% of class so buy Topic Notes and other exam questions are anatomy which is where the useless book comes in handy. I had a A and C+ on the first two exams and still got an A in the class.

Easy professor. Don't buy the book, just buy his lecture notes. 3 non-cumulative exams, all you need to do is MEMORIZE Cladograms and anatomy and you're guaranteed an easy A.

Five exams make up your grade with strong curves. Great Professor. Clear and outspoken. Very refined teaching style: knows what he is going to do, say, and teach every class. Extremely organized. No attendance required, but all you need to pass is go to class and take notes of everything he says. However: not really interested in making friends.

Very interesting class, & extremely helpful teacher. His style is so persistent that if you dont read the book, you can still get what the lecture is all about. His clear style of lecture never confuses you. The lab teacher was kind of boring but overall class was very interesting. NICE PROFESSOR.....

Not an easy A, but it is achievable if you study like all hell. Memorizatoin is key. You'll be baffled at how much you have to study for a geology course. Fun class. Interesting to learn about. But for easy A's take EQ's and Volcanoes or Planet Earth or Intro to Geology (1, 2).
