Comment:

George Perkins was one of the least caring teachers I have ever had. If you want a teacher that leaves extra help without helping you to get to his golf tee-time, this is your guy. Class was so hard that his average test score was under 40% on every test. Had to drop this course before I failed even though I'm a straight A student.

I took his FYS "Saving Capitalism." I learned so much in that class. George is a great guy. Some people think he's mean and grumpy but its just kind of his sense of humor. One of my favorite professors.

Class was meh at best. Lots of lecturing filled with information that wasn't connected with the reading we were doing or that came up on exams. The exams aren't graded too harshly, though.

Perkins is certainly knowledgeable when it comes to the course content. Unfortunately, he was not always willing to share said insight, and left the students hanging. For an FYS, I would not recommend the professor. I do not feel as though I took away anything from the class, especially in way of writing ability or econ understanding.

ok, while I will say this guy is wordy and doesn't get to the point quickly enough, he does know his stuff and he is always available for help outside of class. I don't get the complaint about the power point presentation however. I know for a fact that this guy doesn't even know how to use power point.

I think he's a good teacher, and I agree that he's very willing to give outside help. He knows his stuff and relates them to real world events, but he gives to much attention to the dumb kids, and it slows everyone else down.
