I heard that he didn't want to be teaching this class and he certainly seemed like he was busy with other things. He really did want us to do well though because he gave hints throughout the final. His writing method was confusing and he had more of a foggy voice that definitely made you want to fall asleep. The class itself was a difficult one.

Very friendly and helpful professor. He originally thought we knew much more math+physics than we did, but when he realized this (b/c of quiz+lab report scores) he adjusted to our level. He's very helpful answering questions in lab and very willing to meet up outside of lab to answer questions on the reports. Also prompt in responding to email.

I had a lab class with him. He spent the first ~1/2-1 hr of each class explaining the basic principles of the lab we were going to perform, but not very clearly - his voice would put you to sleep even though we were standing! But if you asked him questions in person during the lab, he was pretty helpful. Obviously very knowledgeable.

Extremely difficult class. His exams were impossible and problem sets made no indication of this. He was a nice guy, difficult to understand at times though. He obviously did not know the level of mathematics most students have at this level, which made me wish i had taken diff. eq. But not a bad guy at all.

Doesn't comprehend that physics II should not be using linear algebra/diff. eq/3D space math w/regularity. I don't think he does it to be malicious, but just doesn't comprehend the disconnect btw E&M II and phys II. Tests were nothing like the homework (in a bad way) and almost impossible. Did recognize the students trouble and willing to answer Qs

a little hard to understand and pay attention to, but you could tell he cared about the subject because he always told the class some random fun interesting stuff.

Libelous? This guy's descript should be beyond outright denigration! He mumbles in a monotone most of the time, and, with his heavy German/Swiss/Norwegian accent complementing that, you rarely understand what the hell is explaining, er, muttering.
