Dr. Sharpley is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable and brings real world experience to the classroom. Students tend to do well in his class. Be sure to review and practice the past exams, because the real exam will be very similar.

Sharpley takes fairly intensive material and boils it down to make sense to those with no background in econ. Gives copies of past exams as test prep for 2 take home exams (each counts for 1/3 of grade)...quite helpful. Fair grader on group project (last 1/3 of grade). Wish there had been more macro but we ran out of time. Definitely take!

Worst professor for an 100 level: I'm sure he's great for higher levels, but he acted like we all were in a 500 level class. Was never willing to help, and was very complicated. If you want to take this class as a breadth requirement, don't. Find another teacher.

Manages expectations of the class well. Attend class, work the problems, get the past exams that he hands out and keep them. Final is not cumulative.

Great class and he is always willing to help. Two take home tests and a presentation, so not too difficult. He goes a bit fast in the first half of the class, but really enjoys teaching macro the second half.

Very good at explaining the concepts so you actually LEARN something! Tests are very fair, never felt that a single question was unreasonable. gives you the essay questions a week before the test. best test is worth more (50%) and worst test is thrown out. the first test is easier, take advantage! study for it and get a good grade to count as 50% !

Good Guy and knows his economics. Still uses the blackboard and sometimes writes illegibly. $120 text for the class but we didn't use it for the macro-econ portion of the class. Keep up on your reading and ask questions - He's happy to help.

He is a good guy and tries to be helpful. His exams are very difficult, but this is coming from someone who took his class as a Freshman. Although I had a friend who just graduated and got an A with another prof. who said Sharpley's exams were pretty ridiculous.

Nice guy, very clear on class material. Gives you two easy quizzes and essay choices for exam beforehand. Material takes awhile to get ahold of so be prepared to study hard to get multchoice/true false on exams. If you study hard you'll do well. Lets class out early almost every time. 3 hours of banking and monetary kind of sucks though.

Funny, nice, intelligent. Ended every class an hour early. Just go to class. Quizzes are easy. He give you the essay questions for the two tests. Just have to study your ass off for the mult choice and true/false and hope for the best. Got an A-. If your looking for an easy B take him.

Sharpley is a pretty cool dude, and is willing to help out as much as he can, but his exams are pretty dificult. The grades were based on participation/attendence, a couple quizzes (kind of easy) and two pretty tough exams. His grading is in the students favor, 25% particip/attend, 25% lower exam and 50% higher exam. Got a B, pay attention in class
