I LOVED this class. Svoboda is funny and upbeat, and class was fun, even at 8am (not my best hour) while my fingers hurt and I struggled to keep up. You definitely have to practice, and keep up with the book, and at the end of the semester you'll be playing the guitar!

No homework, however, you DO have to attend three concerts that you must review. Two tests: one mid-term, one final. Material is mainly based off of your notes. He's got funny stories to tell and he's pretty easy to get along with. Just don't fall asleep during class and he won't call you out for it. I would recommend him.

There are 4 things Sir Svoboda believes in: 1: Kicking @ss, 2: being awesome, 3: ruling harder than everyone else, and 4: Being anti-suck. You could say that is just the same thing said differently, but oh no, his awesomeness is multi-dimensional. And just because Czech Rep didn't get to 2nd round of WC doesn't mean he is a bad teacher okay?!

Great guitar teacher, you really learn alot. He is not too hard, but expects you to know your stuff on performance tests. He does skip around from subject to subject a bit, but he makes it fun and is very easy going. Just remember to practice the material as he gives it to you, and don't focus on one single piece of music, you'll fall behind quick.

He is an amaizing clasical guitar player, I loved to her him play in class. As long as you showed up and participated you would do well. The final was easy. If you want to actualy learn to play you have to practice a lot but you don't have to if you just want a good grade. He also has a cute accent.

Absolutely moving teacher! The subjects he teaches can be challenging (classical guitar), but all you have to do is ask for help and he goes out of his way to help. He's also a no BS teacher. If you participate, you'll pass! Works and writes with Fred Bennedetti, also a music prof at grossmont.

this guy is pretty cool, he's a very experienced guitar player who is really good. for the final, all he made the class do is play a real easy song as a whole group, so you basically had to pretend you were playing
