Not the best teacher I've ever had, but I love the class. He's a fun old guy with a lot of color, great stories and anecdotes bring the course alive. You have to pay attention and keep good notes, but if you're not against that you'll do well.

He is a great professor one of the best I've ever had. You kinda get confused in his lectures because he doesn't talk loud. He is a funny old man. Recommendations, go to class and write everything that he says if you don't want to read his textbook. My advice, before midterms and finals, go over your notes with a partner, this will help you a lot.

hes a nice guy. Funny, laid back. No work in the class whatsoever. Very easy, just read your notes. Hes a closet marxist.

Read the book and memorize it. The book is word for word his lectures, but clearer. He is a nice guy, but very old and does not speak very loudly. If you know the material there won't be any surprises on the exam.

Not easy but interesting. On exams he tests some things that he never mentioned or did in passing. You'll remember a large chunk of class from Macro Princ but will learn it much more in-depth. Don't go to class, just read/memorize his text which is literally a transcript of his lectures. Great stories, he literally designed the Latvian currency.

Not an easy class, but pretty interesting. The only problem is that his class is not very structured and he knows a lot, which, while that may mean that you can learn a lot from him, also means you'll be pretty confused when mid-terms and finals roll around and you don't know what was just babbling and what was really course material.

Was mean spirited in grading and seemed to have a tilt towards foreign students in particular. Did not make the course easy to understand or complete

Viksnins looks harmful to the naked eye but he is an awful teacher, very unclear, and refuses to help students understand the material. NEVER TAKE HIS CLASS.
