Very knowledgable about the Bible. Has a very Marcionite flavor; highly academic.

Very tough class. Professor Weckman will make you work for your grade. Tests are very difficult, like others said, write everything down. Overall, probably not a bad guy, just a very difficult teacher. DO NOT take the class just on the basis that you think it will be interesting; you'll learn many things, but you'll probably also fail.

Unusual teaching methods. He will never give you a straight answer and is very vague on quiz/test questions. Tends to shun student viewpoints, however if you placate him and regurgitate what he says back on tests you might be able to pull off a B. However the hard part is getting him to actually say something real instead of verbally circling.

Overall a difficult class. Very interesting material, but low corellation between class material and test. Weckman is condescending and has very little sympathy for students. One student had to retake the class due to a missed final because weckman didn't think family death was a reasonable excuse.

He likes to give very specific directions on the tests and if you do not go over and beyond what he is looking for you will only receive half credit. (i.e. He asked for a definition of a few words and marked me half off because I didn't give examples on top of the definitons. on another problem he specifically asked for definitions and examples.)

Going to class=a waste of time. He just loved to show off his smarts, and we never really seemed to stay on topic. I attended maybe 12 times. The first test is deceptively easy. The second one is like a cruel joke to make you fall flat on your face. If you do the readings and know the book from front to back, you'll do fine.

Absolutely horrible teacher; however he will make office hours, but it definately will not help. If all possible avoid him and his class. He is the most uncaring individual I've ever encountered at OU- no matter how dire the situation is. Believe me, I know.

no organization at all. class drags on from day to day and doesnt even answer questioins clearly. makes you feel kind of dumb if you dont know the entire old testament front and back.

Allright, this class is tricky. If you go to every class, write every word he says and kiss his ass...you'll be fine. He is a little subjective, but if you put forth an effort, you'll be fine. He will fudge your grade if he sees continual improvement. Take it only if you must...

He's aweful. His test don't necessarily haev anything to do with lecture, he won't answer your quesitons unless he deems them important, and the class had nothing to do with philosophy at all- he ran it like history class. I will never take anything wit

Not a bad prof. His style of teaching is a little bit different than usual. Take notes, get the gist of them and you will be ok for exams.

No study guides and no guarantee that lectures will relate to material on tests. It's funny watching him call on people who've skipped the class for the past week and making them participate even though they don't know what they're talking about, though.

Took his Islam class...easy as pie if you can memorize some arabic vocab, but I don't like his style of teaching at all. He essentially forces everyone to ask questions even if they don't have any, which makes class an awkward exercise.
