He's hands down one of the best teachers here at SBU. I took his class and I was amazed. We were free to speak our mind about issues in the black community and talk about the most taboo subject that are usually ignored in other history classes, with respect for one another. I'd take him again frankly!! Dont buy the books

I think he is one of best professors i have seen in SBU. He is a passionate and inspirational professor, he will try his best to help every student for any academic reasons. I am lucky to meet him and he helps me a lot on my paper. Attendance is mandatory but it only takes 10% , and he allows to miss 3 classes , so I think it is fine.

Fouron is amazing, to say the least. He has most definitely impacted my views on issues of black minorities and immigration. He is a true eye-opener and I wish he'd had public lectures for everyone to hear him. He is not afraid to speak the truth !

Anyone who rates Fouron lower on the scale did not pay attention or refused to acknowledge the issues American education faces. Be sure to speak up if you disagree, he likes that. If you don't speak up and then complain about the material in a forum, then you're just whining. Fouron loves people who make him think, so speak up!

Liked the class; I didn't participate & wrote 2 nice papers and got an A. What bothered me was the amount of required txtbks! The 1st wk he published ANOTHER bk that we had to buy out of pocket from a different website, all required as sources for our papers. Felt like he was just trying to make money off of us, the bkstore didn't buy it back!

Dr. Fouron was one of the nicest, kindest and most intellectual professors I took last semester. He was able to speak about racial matters without making everyone uncomfortable but instead created a comfortable place to discuss racial matters. He also goes in depth about everything he discusses. He was an amazing professor. Thumbs up

Probably one of the most interesting lecture I have ever attended. They are full of life, but sometimes it's a little bit always the same. The grade is based on essays, they take a lot of time and are hard. Plus, he is a smart guy, so he expects a lot from the students. Participating in class is definitely something to do.

Professor is amazing, teacher illustrates what a professor is deemed to be. Discusses many controversial issues that others shy away from. Challenges you as a student. This class consist of two papers. You choose your own topic out of a list of 17. Always come to class with an opinion. Thank you Fouron. You changed my academic career

By far the greatest professor i've ever had. If you are interested in American society or education at all, you would be doing a disservice to yourself by not taking this class. Georges is a brilliant and passionate man, and I wish all my other professors shared his love of teaching.

This is how it's done. He has a passion to teach and help and connect. The experience alone is worth taking his class, the fact that you learn a TON from him makes him one of my favorite people I've ever met.

I love professor Fouron! He is one of the few teachers left that are actually passionate about the subject they teach!! He has opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking. Two papers to write one 15pg for midterm (which he corrects and allows you to revise for a better grade) and a final paper. Would deff recomend him =]

Had Dr. Fouron for my freshman seminar this year. He's a really great guy who wants his students to understand the world around them. The only issue that I have with him is that he can definitely lean to the left on issues quite a lot, which is difficult for me because my views lean to the right. He's knowledgable but sometimes flat out wrong

Great professor, will open your eyes to the 'system'. Just go to class, listen(al though he gets repetitive), participate once in a while, and write two solid papers. Will give you an extension on those papers.

Did the other people who rated confuse this 'teacher' with someone else? I thought this class was called 'Foundations of American Education' not 'let's rant about the holocaust, 9/11, and the tea party.' Every class is exactly the same and he just goes off on tangents. I was looking forward to this class, now I just feel like i wasted my tuition.
