Wow, I don't think I learned anything in this class - except for horses.. I learned plenty about his horses. Yup, I payed for a philosophy class and got tangents and ramblings about his horse farm. Thank God for the recitation or I wouldn't have learned a damn thing.

He is a nice guy and remarkably intelligent. His only problems are going off on obscure tangents and rambling a good bit about anything and everything.

Awesome. Has the right attitude about college: it is a place to gain curiosity, not knowledge. Grades easily. Allows students to design curriculum! There are textbooks, but during lecture he'll go off about whatever you ask about. Fascinating, but a little slow getting to the point. Loves horses, invited class to his horse farm for a party.

Awesome professor. Great stories, very laid back, interested in what students have to say. Massey is the man and he will tell you about some crazy times he's had some of the Centuries top minds (Quine,Chomsky, Sellars etc.) without rubbing it in. Is brilliant but doesn't rub that in either. A+++

i enjoy the freedom you have in professor massey's class. he gives you a detailed syllabus, but you can create your own assignments and grade requirements. he allows you to be evaluated in the way that is most comfortable to you.

It's a good class. He lets you choose what assignments you want to do for your grade (almost anything goes). Then at the end of the semester he invited the class to his farm for a beer party. Cool guy but getting old. Easy to understand but repetitive.
