Comment:
Dr. Fasel gives his cell phone number to all his students, and truly cares about finding what we want to do, even if that means never taking another Physics class again. He is truly invested in his student's lives. The class is easy, read a chapter and discuss it. The 10 minute speech is difficult to prepare for, but plenty of time to prepare.

Fasel is a textbook nutty science professor but a great guy. Way way way too smart for his own good. Lectures are easy but disorganized. Homework is easy but the final is insane - you can't wait till the last minute to study, you better review the material often throughout the semester.

Gerard Fasel is an incredible professor and person. I had him for several courses, and while he always made them very challenging, he brought the best out of his students by making them strive to be more independent and to think deeply about the course material. I Highly highly highly recommend him if you're a serious student and hard worker.

Super nice guy. Wants to help you. If you don't get something, talk to him. Sometimes he goes off track/gets distracted/gets confusing, but honestly if you just talk it out with him, he will explain everything and teach you a ton.

Since the final is pretty much the only test, this class is very hard if you're not self-motivated to study. If you review all along though it's totally doable. He is very helpful and really wants students to learn so take advantage of that!

Good teacher. He presents the material but then expects you to go back home and study it. At the same time it is a very open class, he allows you to miss class and catch up or just not come at all and learn all the stuff by yourself. He is very helpful and he tries to teach physics not memorization. Remember folks physics isn't easy.

Took Fasel for Calc based physics 2. Only gives one test the whole year and then the final. Don't bother going to class...just read the book and grind through it.

Very reasonable class and teacher, most people do quite well even though it's a difficult course. He genuinely wants people to do well and is willing to offer help if you ask for it. He's very knowledgeable. Above all, if you work hard and ask questions, you will definitely do well.
