I absolutely loved Gesine's Classical Theory class when I took it last semester. If you read the chapters you will do fine on the tests and quizzes. Be active in class discussions. Her lectures really play off of discussions so to get the most out of class you should participate. Somewhat of a hard grader when it comes to essay questions on tests.

I liked her. Her classes are not very difficult you just have to do what she assigns. Sociology of Health and Illness was just kind of a boring class for me.

Hearn is a mixed bag. Her classic theory class was one of the best classes I took at ISU; the other two classes I took from her, not so much. She is a little on the difficult side, but if you're semi-competent and work hard you'll do fine. Generally, I gave her high marks because she's fine. Thats right, I said it and I'm not ashamed of it either.

Interesting class. If you listen up and show up you will be fine. The tests can be tough but not terrible if you listen during lecture. She gives you a study guide which helps.

Theory class was difficult, tests a bit too hard. She knows her topic, but entirely too picky on wording of answers (language may be part of this). HOWEVER - Other class I took from her was fantastic. Her knowledge was incredible, her willingness to help outside of class, encouragement of independent thinking and discussion great. Good teacher!
