Comment:

A really sweet man! He truly cares for his students and wants them to succeed; he offers plenty of office hours and always updates the class with any changes. The homework is easy, and if you pay attention you will do fine. Print out the lecture notes and follow along. Not the best at explaining answers in class, but office hours are very helpful!

Comment:

I've watched people struggle in Lauzon's class, but it all boils down to if you take time to do your homework, and if you are struggling, then GO TO OFFICE HOURS. Every time I get confused, I visit and he takes time to make sure that I understand. He cares that students are getting good grades and don't feel stressed. Best teacher I've EVER had.

Dr. Lauzon to date is the coolest professor I've had at CofC. He's hilarious and caring about his students. Despite what others have said on here, you have to be extremely lazy to be forced into dropping or failing his class. He gives extra credit with each exam and really encourages struggling students to ask questions or go to office hours.

He is a nice guy, and he really cares if you pass, but he is not a good teacher. He "gets numbers" which means he is constantly skipping steps in his problems and he then would make mistakes and then you would have mistakes written down in your notes to go and study. He made this class much harder than it needs to be.

Tells you in the beginning of the semester that he understands that you are not a math major and that he really cares about your grade. Wrong!! He just stands in the front of the room hunched over the podium copying down notes on the handouts we have w/o explaining. Had to withdrawal after drowning in work for 3 months and still failing.

I loved having Professor Lauzon! He is willing to help in and outside of his office hours. He cares about your success and understanding of the material. There is a lot of homework due on WebAssign but it helps you to understand the lectures and prepare for the exams. There is also five points of extra credit at the end of every test.

Mr. Lauzon is so nice... but he is very old and very forgetful. If you do take him, make sure you double check HIS work when he does problems on the board because he misses stuff like neg signs or numbers a lot. He's super funny but his tests, quizzes, and homework are all different styles and don't feel connected.

So much homework that you probably won't have time for your other classes. Grades fairly and gives partial credit for the work you show on quizzes and tests. If you keep up with the material and don't fall behind then you should be fine. Great office hours

Lauzon is the single best math teacher I've ever had. He comes off as pretty harsh and gruff at first, but he's hilarious and he's always willing to help outside of class. I wouldn't have passed precalc without his office hours. Definitely would recommend.

I absolutely loved this class. He explained the content very well and had organized and well prepared notes for the class. The notes are online and accessible at any time. He is willing to help you outside of class whenever you need it! He also made funny jokes and gave you creative ways to remember formulas or important equations. Great professor!

Lauzon is a great teacher because he genuinely cares about his students and is on your side. Whenever you are struggling, speak up and he will help you. He has gone out of his way multiple times to help me outside of class. His class is hard, but the only people who don't get a good grade are because they didn't speak up and ask for help.

Though he did not explain what he was doing often when it came to math problems, he was ALWAYS available for extra help any time you would need him. He was willing to work through whatever problem you had, and never made you feel dumb for asking questions. This class was definitely tough, do not skip. Lot of webassign, but helpful in the end.

Would not suggest unless you want to live in CSL all semester. He showed how to do the problem, but did not explain how to do it. I went to his office hours but still did not fully comprehend it. He made me feel idiotic because I could not get it. His tests and homework were completely different than what we did in class.

Lauzon is an all around awesome teacher. I hate math and he actually made me able to understand Calculus and get an A. Gives a lot of homework but in the end it only benefits you because of the practice it gives. If you're serious about the class, take him!!!
