People are so hard on her here. Yes, she's really tough and expects you to read and remember VERY specific details in the text, and don't expect her to go easy on the tests, but she's not that bad. She's a sweet lady, and she'll often give people extra points on the tests because she feels bad. Lectures are kind of confusing, but she means well.

I had a 3 hour lecture class with her and I didn't particularly hate it but she defiantly made it hard to like. I was really excited to learn about this topic but she lectures on and on, rarely engaging her students with questions. Your grade is based off of 3 tests and pop quizzes. She expects you to read practically the whole textbook.

I took a three hour ANT301 with her and it was BRUTAL. The entire course is based on three tests which are VERY hard. She gives test outlines but they roughly align with the actual test. Don't take this course unless you're desperate.

Worst professor ever. She hardly makes sense, it's so hard to figure out what she wants you to know, and what she just feels like saying. Dont ask questions, she wont answer them. She's super rude, and expects you to do way too much work outside of class. She also says "but the fact of the matter is..." about 100 times each class. Do not take her!!

She's nice but the class is like 95% lecture. Be prepared to read and beware of pop quizzes because there isn't much homework so the tests count a lot.

My hands down favorite teacher. She is not well liked but if you give her a chance and really listen to her lectures you will learn a ton and also a little insight into her crazy amazing life.

READ THE CHAPTERS SHE ASSIGNS! 3 tests, all on multiple chapters she has assigned to read. Listen really carefully to her lectures, some of her anecdotes will be on the tests. For a class with no prereqs, she expects you to know a lot more than she lets on. Don't take anything with her if you can manage.

Everything you need to know is discussed in the textbook. She teaches straight from the textbook with occasional antidotes that will show up on the exams so try to pay attention. Exams are pretty straightforward, just know the material in the textbook and you'll be good. She gives study guides that really reflect what you will be tested on.

Yes, the lectures consist of her just speaking for the entire hour and 15 minutes, occasionally using the chalkboard. But as long as you go to class, take good notes and read the chapters (without falling behind) it IS possible to do well. She's really passionate and has a lot of experience. The exams are tough and there are trick questions.

Honestly the worst class I have ever taken. Her lectures are just her going on nonsensical tangents and you just have to figure out what's important and what's not. You are expected to read a chapter for each class and she treats it like a much higher level course than a 200. Do not take this class. I'm an A student and I ended up with a C+.

you need to memorize the textbook, especially small and irrelevant details. 2 tests and 2 quizzes with way too much information. cannot hear at all, handwriting and notes are extremely illegible. study guides (if given) don't cover material on testquiz. final is cumulative. shes the worst, avoid her at all costs.

The class is based on 3 exams. She is old and her concept of learning is memorizing the textbook. She loves trick questions, so be prepared for that. Lectures are confusing and all over the place. She writes on a chalk board and no one can read her handwriting. Read the textbook well and follow the study guide, you will pass.

I'm sure she's a great anthropologist and ice lady, but she's a god awful professor if there ever was one. Incredibly boring, time truly comes to a standstill during her class. Her lectures are dull and confusing, note taking was nearly impossible, and her tests (which are the only assignments for the whole class) are super hard and specific.

She is not helpful what-so-ever if you try and participate and go against her she shuts you down. Nothing lectured is on the exams only from the textbook, but attendances mandatory and pop quizzes are given. Not dates or organization of grading in on the course outline. Wish I hadn't taken this class. Huge waste of energy.

Attendance is mandatory and grade is based on 3 oddly organized tests. No dates on the syllabus, so it's hard to organize workload with other classes. Gave study guides that included pretty much everything in the textbook. Tests are tricky, but definitely a good prof. to take if you're a good test-taker and loathe class discussion.

WORST PROF. EVER! I took Medical Anthroplogy as a GE requirement and it killed my almost perfect GPA. Three tests with trick questions and boring lectures. If you've already registered for a class with her do yourself a favor and drop it. Find something else to fulfill that requirement.

I found this class to be HARD and a lot of work. The lectures were dry in that she has you read the textbook, and then just lectures the chapter in class. If you do the readings and study them hard you'll do well. I thought the tests were tricky and a bit unfair.

She's such an adorable woman. Her lectures can be a little dry, but she occasionally has stories to add from her own experience that make it more interesting. The tests are easier than expected and she gives study guides. Her lectures help to make the material in the book more clear.

I took her class for Indians of North America. I studied my ass off for those three tests that your whole grade is based off of, and still got a D. I have never gotten that low of a grade before, especially not after putting so much damn work into the class. Very challenging, and honestly, I left that class hating her guts every single day.
