Gleason is hard but if that's a problem just switch your major. He's interesting in lecture even at 8 am. His tests come from lecture & book material (read the chapters people). He grades well, gives points on short answer even when you didn't necessarily have it right. I'll be taking him for the 3rd semester in a row this fall so...

I took him for Genetics and Molecular Genetics, bot classes really interested me so I put a lot of effort into these classes. He told us exactly what to study, most of the time. A few surprises here and there but if you went to class and read the text you will do fine. Oh and if you want to be on his good side (and you do) participate!

I took Gleason for Genetics and he said he had changed his course from previous semesters. We had quizzes instead of homework and they weren't easy. The tests weren't too bad, but unless you intend on studying literally several hours everyday I would NOT take this class. I had a decent grade all semester and ended up getting screwed over at the end

I took Dr.Gleason for genetics. He's one of the best biology teacher's I've had.The class is not easy but you have to keep in mind that you're taking genetics not music 101. He's very fair and sometimes he gives you what he thinks you deserve which could be better than what you actually made. I would take any class with him, he's a great teacher.

Had gleason last year for genetics. Hes a hard teacher but he's fair. His tests and quizzes make you study from all around. Furthermore, he is really nice, and will help you. The grade you receive is the grade you earned fair enough.

He turned down a job at Stanford to teach at a small liberal arts school. He won't give you the time of day if you don't earn it sure, but I worked in his lab and he does not pick favorites. The people below just did not try hard enough. Everyone serious in his lab goes to med school or is working on a PhD. That isn't favoritism, it's called skill.

Dr Gleason is a hard teacher, but he really does want you to walk away knowing what you learned. He has this option to were if you failed his tests then you can take his final and if you do better on the final then that's the grade he takes. Very fair as far as grading goes. Always curved bad tests and the final came from the tests.

He is a slacker... no matter how hard you work he plays favourites.. and his favourite labs students are always correct for him and he gives better grades to them. so if you want some biased experience take him .....And he thinks he is the bomb because he worked with some scientis in the past.. and he boasts about them in the class always. moody

Comment:

Took Organismal Physiology and Molecular Genetics with him. I am also doing yeast genetic research with him. I think he is a great teacher. People say bad things about him, but those people are neither interested in biology nor willing to work for an A. I highly reccomend him for molecular genetics.

Complete ****...on my final exam he marked two questions wrong that i got right and he wouldn't give me credit back because "he had too many A's in the class." They were multiple choice questions!!! Don't take him if you have a choice.
