Professor is clearly knowledgable, however, does not teach material well. Uses solutions manual to solve problems. Exams are hard. He loves pop quizzes. Of all Statics professors, I have heard he is preferred.

this guy is really friendly but he should have retired a while ago. he honors his name, class is awfully confusing and u are paying three grand to teach yourself and end up with a bad grade. take wang if u want an A or barsoum if u want to understand solids.

he tries to be funny, but isnt usually. he teaches straight from the book, and just copies the examples from there, doesnt even do it on his own. he always does the easiest examples, and assigns hard HW problems. he gives quizzes the day after starting new material, and never sticks to his schedule as far as HW assignments and tests.

Comment:

McNutt is one of the easiest guys to talk to you will find. He cares if you care. Showing a little effort will go a long way with him, and in this class partial credit is always up for grabs. His lectures might not be the greatest but, the material isn't too difficult and he is more than willing to help with questions.

McNot is quite easily the worst professor ever - and that's no exageration. The man is braindead, and I have serious doubts that he has ever performed a single calculation on his own. This man is a cheat book wizard, and he's not even good at that. I pitty those who must have the displeasure of having to experience his death from boredom lectures.

THis guy has to give up the profession of teaching. He cant even do a simple cross product, how the hell is he supposed to teach statics. he might be good at heart, but i think he needs to retake all his physics and engieering courses before he can teach further. Dont take his class unless you already know the subject..SUCKS

I think he'd make more money as a cure for insomnia rather than teaching. To put it simply, one time he just forgot that he had class, and came in 20 mins late. Never writes anything on the board. He just reads the text book to you in class...

He's kinda old so maybe it's just that he gets confused, but he's a great guy, and really nice once you get to know him. He's real laid back and easy going. I'll take any of his classes.
