If you know how to learn a language on your own in a short period of time, you probably won't have a problem. But if you are new to learning foreign languages, this class does not offer much support. Expected to pick up German just from reading the textbook.

You have to read the book if you have no german experience because he only goes through lecture slides and doesn't always cover grammar. Very funny and somewhat crazy. Easy grader. Not for people who just plan to attend lecture and not read book. He got better as semester went on. His wife is german and he lived in germany, very knowledgeable.

A very sweet man but not a strong professor. Unfortunately he can be petty when one drops his class (Elementary German 2). He means very well but I feel he is more enthusiastic than knowledgeable (but I'm happy he's at least one!)

Taught Beginner German 1 solely in German to kids who dont know german yet. taught grammar in german which makes learning it and its applications difficult. His office is in Old Capiles and his office hours is only 1 hour. Not focused on vocab. Kinda funny, but not helpful at all.

Eccentric and sometimes funny, but not the greatest facilitator. Class consisted of students giving presentations each day on the films watched. Not at all effective. I felt like we were teaching ourselves. He only occasionally supplemented information to this.
