extremely hard professor. he's smart and knows his stuff but his exams are very hard. the homeworks are long and involved and there are only two exams. the expects his class average to be around 65 - way too difficult.

This is the best way to describe this teacher: on the first assignment, everyone got the same grade, of 60. He said anyone could redo it, so I turned it back in, without touching a thing: and I got a 100 back. That's the kind of person you'll be dealing with. Someone who is somewhere between a spoiled, trust-fund baby and a gigantic idiot.

The problem with all the pavilcek classes taken is he doesn't do regular evaluations.You get a midterm+final, and a few homeworks. Thats it. Do poorly on any of those three items and you wont get higher than a C.Pavilcek needs to give more tests a semester. Otherwise its just grading a student at how good at memorization before a final they are.

Had Pavlicek for Algorithms. He knows his stuff. Only thing is he's not very clear on how your grade is determined. He only gave two tests all semester, so if you bomb one you probably wont get higher than a C. He assigns homework but is very unclear about what % it counts toward your grade. I like Pavlicek, but the syllabus needs to be clearer.

Pr. Pavlicek is not an easy professor. I would counter that with he knows what he is talking about and all of his classes are really interesting. He mainly teaches the theory based CS class while Santore teaches the programming based CS classes. Both of them are great and should be taken whenever the opportunity arises.

He is not an easy teacher, but you actually learn things in his class. He is very lenient with due dates on assignments, if you are a CS Major you should definitely take as many of your classes as you can with him and Santore.

I have now had him a plethora of times and him and Pr. Santore are the best two CS teachers. He has a lot to offer and makes the subject interesting to students. Had about 5 book assignments, 1 test, and 1 programming assignment so far. Thought class would be a little more challenging but he was out of town a lot this semester.

Second semester in a row I've had him. Personally, I like him. It's easier once you get to know his teaching style. He's great at explaining things, and will take as long as needed to make sure you understand it. GREAT teacher for CS Majors.

hardest and worst prof. i'v ever had. Took a beginners class, but it was taught like it was for experts thanks to the few nerds that ask so many questions. Class started with 25, ended with 5, no joke. See, 80% chance you will quit too,...i know that much.
