I took a class with Profesora Orozco while she was teaching at Occidental this last semester, and completely fell in love with her and the way she taught the class. Gloria's enthusiasm for Spanish literature is infectious. She is one of the most charismatic and engaging professors I've ever had. Take her class!

I took her Spanish for Spanish Speakers. She is nice and cares deeply about social justice for Latinos. Very helpful and understanding. Tends to be spontaneous and not follow the syllabus. Not much emphasis on grammar, which I did not like. More emphasis on projects, presentations, and different cultures in Latin America

If you like spanish DON'T take her. I took spanish in hs all 4 years and got A's and B's easily. I knew all the tenses and did not struggle. I took two semesters of Spanish at LMU and got A's piece of cake! But 204 with Orozco was hard!! So many papers, presentations, hw, and VERY dry teaching style. If you didn't take AP then good luck!

She is an amazing lady with a love of life. I loved taking her class and by far, she is my favorite Spanish teacher. If I could, I would keep taking classes with her because she is very involved and energetic. She mixes some English in with the Spanish to ensure that everyone knows what is going on.
