Comment:

Professor Roberts was a real teacher that has inspired me to pursue finance. I enjoyed his classes a lot and learned greatly from him. He was a very caring professor, willing to help students learn and excel. I hope I had more opportunity to learn from him.

Comment:

Finance is a complex topic. Prof. Roberts, while an expert in the field, doesn't have the best delivery. He runs through the slides (which does have all the info), but it's difficult to keep up with his pace. There is a lot to read in the text. The online quizzes are a great study tool to help you focus on the areas you don't understand.

Professor Gordon tends to blow through his slides quickly - you NEED to thoroughly go through the slides and book on your own to do well in this course. The lectures didn't add a ton of value for me although he did explain concepts well when the class tried to dig a little deeper. Work through the tough Problems to do well. A lot of material!!!

He's okay. Goes over examples but his voice is monotonous which makes it tough to pay attention. The exam is cumulative which is means its a lot of content to cover. The exams are way different than the samples he posts.

Comment:

Gordo is one of the best profs I had while completing my MBA. He goes over plenty of examples in class. If all finance profs were like this - we would all get an A. He's acted as a reference for me when applying to jobs, and has taken effort outside of his job to help me with other courses. Wish I could rate him higher than this!

The best Prof I came across in my life and he even helped us in our case competition. He starts with current affairs and relates them to the text. I wish I can take all my finance courses with him! if you get a chance to take his course never ever miss!!

I am a person with limited finance background but Professor Gordon Roberts was immensely helpful in making me comfortable with the course and the new topics. He is one of the most encouraging professor and helps you out of class if needed. One of the best experience in Schulich for me was taking his course. Never miss out on him!!

Comment:

Roberts should serve as a role model for all other profs at Schulich. He enjoys teaching and puts a lot of effort into his classes by bringing in newspaper articles and discussing current events. He's very approachable, patient, takes his job seriously and genuinely wants to see students succeed.

Comment:

Professor Roberts is one of the best MBA professors I had at Schulich. He is knowledgable and prepared for class, bring newspapers and other outside materials to illustrate finance concepts. Definitely recommend if you want to learn finance properly. His exams are tough. If you want to do well, attend lectures and do problems at end of chapter.
