Comment:

To put it simply it was an average class that could be more useful to some one who is getting a non business degree. However it was interesting and I pretty much phoned in most of the class. I showed up and spaced out and I still came out with a B with a little effort at the end.

This class is wicked easy, and Gordon Trousedale is an excellent and straightforward teacher. Very whimsical and entertaining, you will know what each quiz and test will be about. if anyone says his class is hard, they are probably an MTV slurpy creaton. Trousdale rocks, and humanities is an easy easy class. Use your brains, college students.

You have to adjust to his teaching style and the way the class as a whole operates, but if you do that then it really falls into place. He has a lot of rad real-life experiences! Do the online discussion stuff (it's easy) and LOOK AT THE REVIEW QUESTIONS. THEY ARE ON THE REVIEW EXACTLY AS THEY APPEAR (for the most part) ON THE QUIZZES!

He comes off at a jerk sometimes, doesn't listen to calss imput at all! Grades papers fairly hard but you only write 3 of them. Lots of quizzes but if you print of the questions for final at the beginning you will do well on both the quizes and final.

you learn a lot by the end of the quarter, although most of you you forget because it isn't worth remembering. Comp. final at end worth 25% of your grade but it is exactly that questions from the quizes you take at the end of each section so print off the REVIEW STUDY QUESTIONS at the beginning of the quarter and write down the answers as you go!!

A good teacher. Helpful. In music apprec' he lectures, we listen to music. He nevers tells what will be covered on the weekly exams. Each week brings more chapters to study in addition to the previous chapters. I never know what to study. Don't know what answers I got wrong. He talks alot before the test. You'll forget the studied material.

Mr. Trousdale is a wonderful teacher. He enjoys music. I have taken music theory prior to this school which helps. I have piano fingers/hands and find playing chords, etc. on the fret difficult. It must be done his way. He is willing to meet with you. Your success is his happiness. I will take beginning guitar with another teacher next semester.

wonderfully insightful and one of the best teachers i have ever had. i'm sure the humanities kiddos would disagree entirely, but being a music major, i found that his insistance on mastering the material we cover is not only in his job title, he loves doing it. i have NEVER been angry at a grade he has given; he gives you what you earn.

2nd Year Theory/Ear Training: Trousdale is a wonderful person- really smart and knows his stuff, and funny as hell. BUT- be prepared to work harder then you possibly have in any class in your life. Allow yourself enough time to devote to these classes- you will be rewarded though, I promise. If you are a serious music major, stick with it!

I am not sure on this instructor. He is unclear on his instruction. Pay attention to details, small details. If you have to take him... read read read! I found it a little frustrating but overall I think he wants you to achieve... ? Good luck.

Took beginning guitar with this guy. Pretty savage the first few days with people not attending. Picked them out to play solo's when they returned. After the people weeded out, he got better. Very formal teacher. Text is printed. Very intelligent about guitar. Always invited to come to his office for help.

I loved his class. Bext choir director I've ever had. Picks fun music and gives plenty of solo ops. Very encouraging as well. Helped me discover my true vocal range.
