Great prof! My favorite soci class so far. His midterms are easy, however the final was rough. If you study you're fine though, I still ended up with an A. I Definetly recommend taking a class with him!

By the way: I do agree with every1 that he does teach really well and you actually learn something useful from his class. Yet I found the average rating of "easiness" very misleading - HARSH marker for papers, tries so hard to be unbiased in class, yet VERY biased in his marketing of the papers!!

Class average for 04/05 was 67%. Teaches well, passionate, invites questions and discussions - a class highly recommend for the sake of learning. Yet if you want good grades, you would have to work really hard in the class. Some ppl had 8X% for their 1st 2 m-terms ended up w/ 6X% after final/paper.

very nice guy and definitely created an atmosphere in which people were encouraged to participate. but sometimes we took too long on class discussions and it felt like a waste of time. classes were still interesting though and he made a 3 hr class bearable.

Many students like him only because he encourages students to freely express their opinions and he is very passionate. BUT, that DOES NOT mean that he teaches well (in fact: we have to do most of the learning ourselves). AND he has HIGH expectations: 12 pages paper + 3 exams for a 2nd yr elective??
