You read one chapter a week take a quiz on it. Do a post and respond to three of your classmates' posts. Your final is a 5 page paper over one of the chapter topics and there is extra credit available if you want it. Is a straightforward class and the workload is reasonable.

He gets a 1 for his textbook requirements. He forces you to buy his really bad online textbook for $70 because you have to take the quizzes in it. The book is really poorly put together and you don't have the option of getting a cheaper used one because of the quiz requirement. I didn't appreciate him using the class to line his own pockets.

I only wish I could learn from all my classes as I did learn from Sports and Society. The subjects were always very relevant, current, and linked to the real world. I got myself several times citing information learned from our lectures, during conversations with friends, outside the campus. Too bad classes like this are rare these days. Take it!

He's taught Intro to Sociology classes for like 25 years. Had him during my very first term of college. Nice guy. Tests COMPLETELY from the book (don't need to go to lecture to pass). I do remember him kicking out 2 students who were in the WAY back of a HUGE auditorium! I learned some cool new vocabulary words;tests mostly on vocab/definitions.
