From the first day you can tell he genuinely loves astronomy, and from that you at least get some re assurance that your professor is someone passionate about his job. Class is definitely tough, he curves on a grade but it only shows you how tough the material is. I would take again, be ready to read!

He is a very respectable and intelligent man, who is extremely passionate about astronomy. Lectures were insightful and easier to comprehend with the PPT supplementing the notes. Grades are reliant on only three tests. So get his lecture notes and do the study guide in the back of it! His tests are difficult, but like I said do the study guide.

I love this profesor but your grades are only based on the 3 exams you take which makes it harder! I would consider taking him again though

Smart, funny, and intellectual professor really enjoyed his lectures and jokes but your grade is based on 3 exams only doesn't give homework or extra credit if you study hard enough you will pass, but the exams are difficult

2 Midterms 1 final & weekly chapter quizzes. For an A Do and understand the hw questions until you can do it without looking to prepare for quizzes and exams. I also selected a handful of questions from the book to practice with. Work hard from the beginning you will do well. No need to drive an hour a day to take physics at another college.

Professor Miller's lectures are inspiring especially the way he ended the lecture... he had everyone shook and he started tearing up a little. I don't know if I'm just saying this because I'm interested in astronomy but you really learn a lot in his lectures; test are OK they are not that hard if you pay attention in class.

His class is very interesting. I didn't get anything about his lectures. Difficult class. I would take his class again because I loved it even though I failed and I'm pretty sure I would failed it again.

Professor Miller is a very knowledgable man and you learn a lot of interesting stuff in his class that open your eyes to how vast the universe truly is. The textbook isn't required and neither is attendance (except for the 3 test days). He's very traditional and laid back, you just show up and pay attention. Tests are challenging but not impossible

Without a doubt the best professor at SWC. Very Knowledgeable and inspiring. Book isn't required all you need are his lectures notes, which can be purchased at the book store for less than $10. Don't skip class, pay attention during lecture, and study a few days before the tests and you'll be fine. I would definitely recommend him.

FIRST: DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. He has his exact lecture notes in the library for $8. SECOND: Attendance is not mandatory, but if you want to pass you probably want to go. THIRD: There's 3 tests. That is it. That can either be really good or really bad, depending on how you test. He's passionate about the subject but most students fail.

Mr. Miller is very knowledgeable in astronomy, and he has amazing lectures. I enjoyed the class but the 3 tests you have were extremely difficult. Even if you studied, it seems as though the questions were reworded so differently, it made you question the material you just reviewed. Half the class failed unfortunately, not so easy.

this course is difficult but the way professor miller conducted the lectures helped me understand the material well. he is very well organized, speaks very clearly and does not put any surprises when it comes to the quizzes and tests. you do have to put your time into this course, however. overall, i really enjoyed him as a professor.

He used to teach at the Air Force academy, so he's very prim & proper. He knows his stuff. Lectures are boring. Attendance isn't mandatory but that's upon your risk since there are three tests. There are study guides for the tests in the back of his lecture notes. He's funny when he wants to be. I'm not into astro but I'd take his class again!

Proff Miller is absolutely amazing. He commands so much respect in his classroom, no one is out of line. His class is completely fair, he's not going to get on your case about attendance, but you should miss class at your own risk as the 3 tests that determine your grade are entirely based on the lecture. Just pay attention in class, you'll make it

More than half of the class failed, it's easy if you study really hard. There is only 3 test, so if you fail one of them you might get a bad grade, very hard class in my opinion. No need to be in class, he doesn't care if you're there, it's your option to learn or not.

Most amazing teacher you will ever have. His lectures are amazing and he explains everything so clearly. The last day of lecture he made the whole class stand up and clap from his speech. There is no homework or quizzes but 3 tests that determine your entire grade. Luckily 60% up is a C. Buy his lecture notes they are extremely helpful and only $8.

He's obviously great at what he does. He knows his stuff. He doesn't curve grades but his grading scale is easier because of the difficulty of his class (if you get a C it's a B in his class). I would recommend him and I have!
