Ganter is definitely a one of a kind professor. Took his modernization class and while it was challenging I learned a lot. There is a lot of reading and you have to do weekly responses as well as 3 major assignments and a final paper. He doesn't take attendance but notices when you aren't in class. Overall a great experience, would take again.

I enjoyed his class. He is knowledgable and pleasant. He is a good listener and an intelligent professor. He is also easy-going but does expect you to read, participate, and write responses. I would take another class with him and I respect him as a fellow scholar.

He's a great professor. You have to do a one-page weekly reflection on the pages you were assigned to read. Try to have something to share in class so he knows you read. He lets you resubmit the 3 major assignments as many times until you get the grade you want. I loved this class and was always interested.

For this class, you need to write weekly reflections about the book that you are reading, Besides that, there are three papers , and the final which is an eight page paper. The professor allows you to resubmit the three papers over and over again until you get the grade that you want. Overall, this class is interesting and the books are too.

So, this prof knows what he is teaching. I had his classes a while back and he taught then what is happening now. Place, Race, Religion, Politics---Diversity and Racism. He not only is aware of intellectual privilege. He is the embodiment of it. To cap it off, he looks amazing in a suit and tie.... Black Donald and Capitola Le Noir Dr. G.M. Ganter

Overall he is a very demanding professor. He gives a lot of reading each class and a one page writing response per week. He is very smart and will say or do just about anything so be prepared. The final is optional. He is a tough grader. If you are not a strong student in English or a good reader do not take. He does curve your final grade.

Dr. Ganter just knows exactly what to say to "the graduate student". His advice is fruitful - btwn hisexperiences and knowledge of "the profession" help every "professor to be" feel like they deserve the seat they are sitting in. His class pushed me to "put myself out there" in the academic world. I'll accredit my continued future success to him!

He's clearly passionate about what he does but I just don't think that he gives clear enough directions. He gives 3 assignments to help you prepare for the final paper (worth 50% of your grade) but doesn't really explain them until after you've handed them in and he's graded them. I love English but this class I found very unclear and almost boring

He is a great teacher and an awesome guy. I hated english(and college) until I took his class. Walked out of his class with a broader sense of knowledge and improved writing skills. Had Homework but it was easy stuff and made class more interesting. I suggest everyone take him before leaving St. John's.

Hands down one of the best professors on the Queens campus. HILARIOUS GUY! I wouldn't leave St. John's without taking him at least once. I took him twice. No homework and assigns weekly one-page responses. Keeps the class interesting and exciting. Doesn't appreciate people who don't come to class and calls you out on it. Definitely take him! :)

Professor ganter is one of my favorite professors at St.Johns. His course is very relaxed and discussion biased unlike many english classes. I ended up taking away way more then this class then i expected. Defiantly take him if you can you wont regret it.

Quite nice and a funny guy, but a very complicated and extremely tough grader. Very critical and hard. He gives crystal clear instructions to his works but even then many fail to get A because he has a broader view outside of his formal typed guidelines. But the good thing is that his class can actually make you a great student.

Great professor, fair grader, and he's very nice and intelligent. Possibly the most intelligent in the whole department. And ladies, to cap it all, he looks absolutely stunning, so you won't fall asleep in his class because you won't take your eyes off him! Just keep in mind that he has a wedding band.
