I'll miss Herriges, he was by far the best professor I've taken at Harper. He was so genuine, so interesting with his material, and was so insightful with his feedback. I wish he has a nice retirement, but if he ever comes back, TAKE HIM.

Prof is really into Innovative Authors. Talk about thinking outside of the box - I'm still trying to wrap my head around Holden Caulfield's angst. And if you don't know what Existentialism and Transcendence are about, you will after that vocabulary test!! Wishing him the best during the next phase of his life. Stay healthy my friend!

Terrific Professor! Had him for ENG 101 and 102. He tells amazing stories about his fascinating life. He almost always let class out early and everything we do or what's due for a particular day in listed in his syllabus. Ask him for help if needed for papers, clarification, or otherwise. Glad to be able to have him for his last year at Harper!

I had the privilege to have Prof. Herriges teach English 101 class - his last semester at Harper college before retirement. He is very knowledgeable, funny and kind and I really enjoyed his class! He is also a talented writer and musician and shared his passion with his students. If he decides to teach again one day, take his class!

Took him for Eng.101 and 102. One of the best lecturer at harper. He wants his student to succeed. I had A in both classes, but be ready to work for it. He gives vocabulary every week , so be prepare. I will take him again. register for his class early, because it get filled up quickly.

I thought hed be a good teacher but did not understand his way of teaching. What he wants on papers is unclear and subjective. Readings are also unclear and he makes you read his own book.

Highly recommend Mr. Herriges! He is a great professor and teaches you a lot. I took him for English 101 and 102. He really connects with his students and he is passionate about the material he teaches. Loves talking about his personal experiences which students find amusing. Spring 2018 is his last semester so I highly recommend you take him!

He likes to talk a lot about his personal life experiences, but makes the class more fun. I believe he is fair with his grade criteria, and I learned a lot from his class. He does not use blackboard. He gives vocab quizzes. Also, don't forget to do the readings, he gives pop quizzes about them.

Great Professor! The Spring 2018 semester is his last before he retires. He was a fantastic professor with a really interesting life. I would take him again for English 102, but it doesn't work with my schedule.

Prof. Herriges is the best teacher I've ever had! He's so cool and loves psychedelic music and has met many famous authors. His band, Athanor is really good as well. I'm very sad that net semester is his last before he retires. He made me love reading and writing again because he's so encouraging and picks the best content to read.

Got an A. All I can say is this guy makes you really work for your grade. Don't plagiarize, he really doesn't want that. Make sure you participate too. He looks like Professor Snape by the way.
