Take chapters notes before lectures and do online homework - it's easy and will give you a lot of extra credits on the test. 3 lecture test and 2 lab tests before the final. Dr. Jones is super nice and I enjoyed his class

Professor Jones is a nice person. He does try to teach in a way that helps you relate more to the material but his lectures are super boring. if you pick him for an early class it's hard to show up. The class has three exams, and two lab exams and that is all your grade depends on. You have to read the chapters in order to pass. There is no hw.

Really awesome professor. Talks like a regular dude and makes the class as easy as possible as he understands that not everyone is a biology major and most people are just trying to satisfy SF's AA requirements. Very knowledgeable too and makes the class interesting. Glad I took Dr. Jones and would recommend him to others!

I've had professor jones for two semesters BSC2010 and BSC 2011 now and he is the best biology professor. He gives ten points extra credit fro each exam if you do an outline for the chapters. He is the most insightful biology professor, he knows everything and anything. you have to read the chapters for the exams but you will be very prepared.

During his lectures he just goes over the PowerPoints and homework is online for extra credit which is then added to your test grade which helps a lot. Labs are easy and fun and Professor is always able to answer questions and wants to help. Great guy, but lectures can get a little boring. As long as you study the context in text book you can pass.

Super nice and funny but he lectured for however long he deemed necessary and then you were just expected to know material. What was graded and assignments were kind of vague. Class was just facts no real explanations. Grades were tests and lab thats pretty much it. If youre a bad test taker youre kind of screwed.

Jones does not give ANY assignments/ homework so your grade is solely based off of exams/ lab exams. He gives tons of extra credit that counts toward exam grades. (optional online HW for extra credit and if you take notes BEFORE lecture and show him, you also get extra credit). His exams are textbook heavy so read the chapters and you'll be fine!

Honestly have no complaints. A little dull at times, but that really didn't bother me. He's not afraid to tell you when he's wrong or unsure, and wants his students to succeed. Four tests, three lab exams, and a final composed of old test questions. Gives 10% extra credit for every test, and drops a test if you do an internship. Tests are from book

DO NOT take this professor for this class. I will NEVER take him again. Only grades tests and projects. On projects he grades on his personal preferences and marks you off if you do not agree. He is very monotone. YOU WILL NOT learn about animals in this class. You might as well take an ecology class. They are the same exact thing.

Dr. Jones is a chill professor who cares about his students doing well in this course. Test questions come directly from the book so if you want to well, you must read the assigned chapters. My only gripe is his monotone voice which leads to very drawn out, boring lectures.

Awesome professor! The material is hard but he makes it a lot easier to understand. He gives extra credit for every single one of the tests which is super helpful. You definitely need to study but there is no homework so you have plenty of time to do that. He isn't afraid to drop some profanity in there and he is hilarious.

Mr. Jones is dope. He's one of those professors who wants all of his students to get an A. He offers extra credit that are added to the test and lab tests and because of this i got an A on all 3 exams and both lab tests. He has a good sense of humor and isn't afraid to throw so profanity in there. I'm taking him again this summer! Take this guy !

The only (small) problem is his voice, so in other words, coffee. Having said that, this ex-UF proffessor is laser precise in his diction and is extremely specific about how he explains concepts - this makes for fantastic lectures. Read the book; his exams are based on it. Do the plethora of EC he offers, and ask him tons of questions just for fun.

Professor Jones does not seem to like his job. His lectures are utterly boring and monotonous. You're on your own when it comes to labs, the manual is your only guidance. Sure, there's plenty of extra credit but it won't really matter if you don't learn all the material for the tests by yourself. I recommend you take a different professor.

So core bio can be a hard class in general, but you can definitely achieve an A with Dr. Jones. He offers easy extra credit! Notes for each chapter/questions on masteringbio are extra credit that get added onto your test grade. Tests are multiple choice. Doesnt really care about attendance. He's funny and teaches well.

I took the BSC2005, Gen Biology class plus the lab for the summer. It was not a bad class, but it wasn't a great class. Prof. Gregory has a very monotone voice, so the lectures tend to seem longer than needed, but he loves his area of profession. He'll admit when he doesn't know something, or he'll give you what he knows.

He gives lectures that aren't related to the tests. Read the chapters assigned to each test out of the TEXTBOOK and you should do great! Tests are word for word out of the book. Attendance isn't mandatory, so if you're good at understanding concepts on you're own this is the class for you!
