I took Dr. J for Genetics. The class took a lot of effort to do well & Dr. J was always available if you needed help. I suggest for students that are taking his classes to really take advantage of his office hours - trust me, it helps. Reading also helps & paying attention in class, but if you don't understand, ask away. He's always there to help!

I was a grad student and undergrad at this school. (Bill Thayer). This guy had a open door policy, come in ask him a question. I DID EVERY FRIDAY FOR 2 MONTHS. He helped me every time FOR HOURS. TAKE ADVANTAGE of your small school go in and ask him questions he couldnt be nicer. Beware of his multiple choice you either know or dont. SO know it ALL

Not really helpful b/c he's intiminating to look and talk to but if you or he knows each other well, then he's nice. So "SUCKing UP" might help you in his class. I love this guy he is the most interesting guy ever. He looks like he walked though a clothing rack and appared with cloths. But he will kill you if your phone rings. He is super smart and his tests are a bit tricky but if you ask him a questoin or talk to him this intimidating guy turns into the nicest teacher ever (Next to his wife that is)

His class is very hard. I had Genetics with him, his lectures are not good, very unorgonized in lectures. But he is willing to help you out. You have to study hard and know alot, tests are extremly hard and alittle unfair, alot of questions for the given time.
