Comment:
Kattner was a decent lecturer, but a lot better than other professors my friends had. The class is difficult because 85% of the grade is based on four tests, but Kattner truly wants to help you learn and clarify any struggles you are having. Super nice man that cares about his students- just goes slow sometimes on easier topics.

Kattner is an awesome guy. Sometimes can go too fast, but due to limited class time. Classes during exam weeks are for review. His own exams are extremely clearcut and fair. Exam-heavy, but that's to be expected. Take advantage of his TAs and other resources. There's a good amount of WebWork, but the numbers are always a lot nicer on the exams.

Finite is a hard class, and he didnt make it easier. We would spend 30 min doing the same problem. You have limited attempts to get your hw right and he gives more Webwork than other professors. He isnt bad, I would say average at teaching, and he is a nice guy. You dont have to go to class, attendance isnt taken.

Prof. Kattner lectures like everyone has taken the class before. Not a lot of webwork, but the difficulty doesnt match what was discussed in class. The textbook is never used so dont bother, just a waste of money. The exams are similar to webwork in that the problems are more difficult than lecture notes.

My mans gkat knows his stuff. Might just be the weirdest man I've met but he knows how to get the job done. Also loves his astronomy. Overall great guy and great at explaining things as thoroughly as possible.

The class moves fast and is basically only lecture but, talking to him after class or using office hours really helps if you don't understand what's going on.

Very standard professor, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. Kattner is very nice and his class is kind of like watching a math youtube video. All of the finite professors are just alright however, so it is not like he is worse than the other options. Finite is simply a class that requires a lot of self effort to be successful.

Really LOVES math. Gives decent notes. It's a hard class so if you put the work in and go to class you should be ok.

Mr. Kattner in many ways is akin to a living Khan Academy video. In class, he gives very clear and concise instruction and was also very helpful answering questions. I had him as my professor for finite math. While the class was not easy, Mr. Kattner did a great job explaining the material.

Kattner is very confusing, he contradicts himself all the time. Finite is already a horrible class and he makes it even more confusing because he confuses himself. He is very nice though, he does care about his students but he is just confusing.

Comment:
Prof Kattner is a decent teacher. Gives very straightforward lectures, teaches you what you need to know, accessible outside of class, gives a reasonable amount of WebWork. Tests are hard, but if you understand the concepts you should pass. Nothing very special about this class though, it's pretty boring and no effort is made to engage students.

Show up to class and you'll be fine. Doesn't assign too much Webwork. You will have no difficulty understanding him, unlike other professors in the Calc department. Tests were exactly like the homeworks. By the end of the semester I was surprised at how easy he made calculus.

Hard to hear. Monotone. Goes through notes way too fast and makes homework often harder than it should be.

So annoying.. worst class ever taken. Such a weed-out class. He makes his tests harder than other professors. He is terrible at teaching. Cant study through the book, its terrible as well. So much webwork for the whole semester. Tests have so much short answers, which means the slightest error will get you wrong. You have so little time for tests

Such a nice guy, but honestly, just not a good professor. He is a calculus genius and I can tell he knows what he's doing, but he's so smart that he has trouble explaining on a basis that makes sense to students. I have to learn everything right before the tests because his lectures and webwork are not anything like the tests. Would not recommend.

Kattner is a fantastic person who was very passionate about his subject. Buy i found that most of his teaching methods revolve around the students either having previous knowledge of what was being taught or requiring to learn a lot of the material outside of class. In office hours, he is extremely helpful. Lectures mainly cover easy homework probs

Homework 3 times a week right up until the day of the final. Kattner stumbles over his words occasionally and sometimes moves too quickly, but he truly loves the subject he teaches and enjoys teaching. Encourages students to come up to him for help. I would have loved him if the class wasn't impossible.

Comment:
His teaching style is very disorganized and confusing. He is very passionate about Calc, but this is actually a detriment as he goes WAY too fast and jumps around without thoroughly explaining things. The homework was always 10x harder than what we learned in class, which made applying new concepts really hard.

Comment:
Professor Kattner is so enthusiastic about math it is almost scary. He is good at explaining things (for the most part) so going to lecture and taking notes is helpful, however I feel as if the test questions tend not to resemble the homework assignments so be sure to go over the problems in the textbook. Course grade is mostly based on tests.

Kattner uses confusing methods to solve problems and the class is 100% weighted on tests that are inconsistent with the online work.
