Pleva is a very helpful teacher and will work with you to help you pass!!The class is hard for non computer majors. The majority of students in the class are falling behind a week or more in their labs, which is a little shocking. The book is useless, use the tutors and what you can find online to get the labs done.

I had no interest in this class, nor any prior knowledge of computer science. The lectures are rushed and useless, the textbook hardly helps, and he uses different terms to describe things than the text. Once you reach lab it is difficult to know what to do. However, in lab he will help you one on one and tell you what to do. lecture is useless.

When I took this class from Greg I actually learned how to program. He was actually able to teach the material in a format that everyone could understand and he was very helpful when people had questions.

This class was a waste of time and I only took it because it was required for CS majors and counted for general ed. Not only were the assignments stupid but he took forever to grade stuff. He's not very reliable and only keeps 1 step ahead of his students at most.

Class was cake but very boring. Pleva tended to make mistakes in the lectures and was often corrected by students. However in this type of field changes are constantly made, so I can not blame him too much for that. However I did end up helping a lot of people to understand his descriptions - these people took prog2 +3 later with me and didnt have issues, so on that note I do find fault.
