Dr. Proulx is very knowledgeable, passionate and caring, his classes are always a pleasure to attend and he always makes lectures interesting. In terms of exams, make sure to read the textbook! He mentions what to focus on for exams in class and posts slides, however his exams are very textbook heavy! If you read the textbook, it's an easy A

Honestly there wasn't any other class in uni that made me appreciate my life more. Everyone can learn so much from this professor. It's obvious he's an expert in his field.

Dr. Proulx is one of the best Psychology profs at Glendon. His passion for the physiology of the brain is infectious and he is so insightful with real-world examples. Talks a bit much on his practices, but overall helps to illustrate the concepts. His exams are certainly fair and if you use the visual summaries (which he loves) you'll do just fine.

Proulx definitely teaches some interesting material. However, in the test, I found that he didn't focus on the main concepts of the lectures. He simply would ask you a vague question or he would ask a question from a topic that was discussed for only like a minute.

The prof is clearly very passionate about his work and what he teaches. I do admire his energy and enthusiasm. But, he's all over the place. makes it very hard to take notes in class - you kinda just get lost trying to figure out what he's on about. LOTS OF READING AND MEMORIZING. It's not an easy class.

Dr. Proulx is an amazing lecturer, able to explain even the toughest concepts -using examples from his practice and the latest research. He always has time for students and will never turn a question down. Quizzes are a great mark-booster, but make sure to really study the textbook for his exams! Wouldn't hesitate to take another course with him.

This was the best class I've ever taken and it changed all my life plans. Dr. Proulx is an inspiration. He is a tough marker, but a kind man with huge passion for people. It was a big challenge for me (I have no science background), and it was tons of reading, but it was enormously rewarding. I'm grateful every day I took this class, and met him.

Dr. Proulx is the best professor I've ever had. And one of the toughest. He is funny and spontaneous. He's not laid back with grading, though. He writes tests that are VERY textbook-based and very detail-oriented. Even though he tests according to the book, he is very mindful of who has attended. Will help students accordingly.

A complete waste of time and money. This "professor" goes on and on with his experience as a clinical psychologist. He does not teach the basis science subjects that are listed in the syllabus. He is confusing and never involves the students because he seems to be unsure or something.... except when doing his scripted monologue.

The "prof" cannot teach basic sciences. Just talk about patient cases and big, dynamic show. But this is not the course is about. Please prepare to teach us the course subjects instead. Thank you.

the exams are very vague... some questions (worth 10 points) are very open ended leading perhaps to some statistical adjustments to the overall class' grade. LOTS of reading and memorizing. not an easy A. the prof is lively and passionate.

Despite what has been told to you, in order to pass this class, you have to follow the book. The lectures help SOMETIMES, but exams are 80% book based. He's really an energetic guy, who makes you excited about the topic, but it's disappointing that students who take the time to actively attend the 9am class don't really have an advantage.

He would only talk about his life and supposedly funny stories in stead of actually explaining the matter, which was not easy at all because of its nature. Completely disappointed, a waste of time and money.

While he is a funny and interesting professor, he was confusing as hell! His exams did not match to the text and he would ask the most minute RANDOM things on the exams. He played favourites with his thesis students. BUT that being said he was helpful most of the time when asked -- terrible lecturer though!

I was very disappointed with this professor.I found him to be confusing. We seldom if ever!received our exams back and many times in class he appeared unprepared and out to lunch. I got the feeling that he uses "storytelling" to cover up for lack of prep. There was lack focus in the lectures. Compensates by "adjusting" grades. I was not impressed!
