Great professor. Really knows his stuff. Makes you see new perspectives. I got more out of his class than any other class I've taken. He assigns articles to read and will quiz you on them. But they're usually really interesting reads and the quizzes aren't that hard. Tests are hard though. You really have to study hard to make a good grade.

I have learned more from Dr. Herzog than I have from any professor so far at WCU (although all of my professors have been great). He definitely keeps you interested, but you really have to study if you want to make an "A" in the class.

I have had Dr. Herzog for two other classes as well as senior seminar. You have to earn your grade in your class, but you learn a lot and he's great at keeping his students interested and engaged. He's very willing to meet with students outside of class to let them know how they are doing or review how they are doing on their papers.

best professor on campus. he teaches you everything you sign up for and then some. he keeps you interested with stories and useless info. his test are fair. his study guides are long, but team up on them and youll do great. dont do them alone and spend 30 hrs completing them. great teacher

Hal is a cool guy. He's very intelligent, opinionated and funny. I'm surprised to see that everyone rated him so easy. He isn't terribly hard but you do have to work hard if you want an A in his class. I would recommend you take him if you get a chance.
