While the course material for Structure (freshman chemistry) may not seem as coherently taught as it could be, Prof VR can explain things in a very visual way (even resorting to interpretive at one point). Great sense of humor as well.

Always extremely clear and helpful. Also great in office hours. His lectures are entertaining, and he always has some awesome way to remember what he teaches in class. He also has tons of a cappella music that he plays before class.

VR was always lively, his lectures were engaging (even though they were early in the morning)... it helps a lot to at least skim the text before lecture though b/c there is a lot of material to cover each day and it's easy to get lost. I think the amount of work assigned was reasonable, and the tests were challenging.

Just rubs me the wrong way. Felt course material was not tied together well, nor did class flow make sense for me. He's enthusiastic and a nice guy. Some people like him... just wasn't my style.
