I had Dr. Hanna for Western Civ I & II many, many years ago. In my opinion, he was one of the best Profs that GCC ever had. His tests were very challenging & you had to be a copious note taker to do well. I also found Dr. Hanna to be quite caring. He challenged me to look at UPenn as a transfer school which, in turn, helped me believe in myself.

Never want another History teacher. He gives a syllabus at the beginning of the term with all the terms to know for each book chapter. The tests are on the book, the final on the lectures. If you dont go to class you WILL fail the final. Made it really interesting!

My brother took this class and he LOVED it. I took the class and I am not a history major, so to me it was to much stuff to do just to fill a history credit. The ratings I gave for this professor are on behalf of my brother who is a history major so if your majoring in history this teacher is for you because he KNOWS his stuff.

Hannas the man! I had him awhile ago but he holds a special place in my heart. Very challenging so if you're up for the task of intense learning, sign up. If you do not want to learn and want to continue going through life munching off others, don't take. He tells you how it'll be the very first day. If you fail, it's your own fault.

I don't understand why everyone is so fussed over Hanna. How can you NOT do good on his tests? He gives you a sheet with a list of what to study! He was a great teacher, most of it was lecture you didn't have to take notes on. He rarely if ever bored me. I'd take him again in a heatbeat.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about either! Dr. Hanna is really interesting and knows his stuff. True u have to work hard in his class and read but if u do it, u'll get an A. I liked him a lot and looked forward to his class.
