Comment:

Dr. Hartman is one of my favorite professors that I have ever had. You can tell how well she knows what she is teaching. If there's a question she didn't know the answer to, she would come in next class having read up and ready to explain. Class is a healthy mix of lecture, powerpoints, film, and discussion. If you need sociology, take her!

This is a professor that cares. Dr. Hartman wants everyone to participate and do well. You can learn a lot from her and from the students around you because she likes a lot of class conversation about the topic. You will learn very cool facts if you take her for soc of education. I recommend.

I read the reviews on here and was reluctant to take her class....I ended up getting an 96 in the class and it was by far the least amount of effort I ever put into a class. Never listened to a lecture or anything just did the required posts and assignments and got an A. Take her online if you can for an easy A

She assigns wayy too much reading material to be completed within a week. And the reading is between two different books. She was not a good teacher at all and I felt like I wasted my time taking that class during my first semester here. had I known, I would have not taken the class to begin with. Avoid her class if you can.

She is the sweetest professor eva & is very helpful. I had for 3 classes thus far at Rowan & passed all of them, but I do not recommend anyone to take her for Sr. Seminar, it is so boring and is based off of this huge difficult paper. I believe it was so boring, only because it was Religion. Other than that I would recommend any other class.

Very nice, sweet & helpful professor. I had her for four courses and pass all of them with a decent grade, except Sr.Seminar. That is one ourse I would advise not anyone to take with her. She taught Sr. Sem (Religion) & is as soooo boring, she require this huge paper and readings for each week. Their is 3 books, you must buy & will need to use.

Soc of Child Thru Adol. She goes out of her way to help you, provides you with all notes for everything, just a lot of time-consuming papers. Work is not overboard and other comments are absurd. It's people who don't want to work- if you form a relationship, pay attention, do the work - A! Great lady, truly cares and takes interest

If you are a sociology major and you're required to take this class or something else, choose the something else. This class is geared towards education majors not sociology. She gives the work load equivalence to a graduate course. Entirely too much reading which impedes on your ability to absorb anything. If you do the work you'll be fine.

The classes at Camden for Rowan are ridiculous as they are full of disrespectful and rude students of the area who can now apparently bring their kids to class if they can't find a day care, this is ok by Mrs. Hartman. I could never talk but when I could my opinion's were dismissed as her liberal opinions were only acceptable answers in the class.

Had her for soc of ed. She tried to teach it as if it were an online class, but still required you to show up. She tried to force her opinion on us. And, she constantly contradicted research in the text that she made us use as a primary source. finally, she kept changing her grading policy mid-class. MAY BE BI-POLAR

This is not a breeze by and get an A class. She's a hard grader and expects a lot from her students. 10 one page reaction papers, and another long assignment (or 2) per semester. She will help you if needed. Not a memorization class, all application. If you're interested in Sociology and education, and you're not a slacker, take her.

very smart woman, but has too much going on in her life to be teaching a class. she expects everyone to be familar with certain issues, and thinks that everyone should have the same thoughts and views as her. she's nice, and tries to help you do well, but she gets very, VERY boring

she didnt teach at all, doesnt tell you what she expects on papers, give 15 study questions and only uses 3 or 4, she is the worse teacher I have ever had, she has no personality and seems to know nothing, she makes her students teach every lesson and always asks what you think but when it comes down to it, it doesnt matter what you think.

She was awful. Seemed to get pleasure out of failing us. Gives a ridiculous amount of essay questions to study for the midterm and final and only uses 3 on the actual final. Way too much busy work and the classes are very very boring.

I had her for child soc and soc of education. I would recommend her if you want to learn. She is VERY knowledgable about a lot of subjects. Not an easy teacher, but she cares and wants students to learn.
