Professor Ballard is one of the best professors at OU. Prior to his class, i wasn't that interested in gardening or plants in general. His passion and interesting lectures changed that almost immediately. I would definitely recommend taking his class.

EASIEST class you will ever take at OU! Class attendance is not mandatory but he is so into what he teaches you will literally feel so guilty if you skip. Sometimes he takes attendance for extra points so if you aren't gonna make it to class let him know. NO TESTS. NO PAPERS. Just maybe 5 assignments you can google & a powerpoint. Brought in food!

Harvey Ballard is a wonderful Professor who is extremely passionate the environment. He wants you to enjoy learning the information, so there are no tests and few assignments. Unfortunately, because of that, it was very easy to not get out of bed for his 9am. I would recommend his class to any non-bio-major looking to fulfill a credit:)

One of the most amazing professors at Ohio University!! The class itself is very easy. Consists of about 6 one page reviews on a topic of your choice, a small powerpoint on a topic of your choice that you submit online, and a group project for the final. Harvey really cares about his students. He is willing to meet just to talk about life.

No tests. No quizzes. Just a half page paper every other week about something cool related to plants. A very easy class, but Harvey made it that way since it was a non-major class. Made it pretty cool and he himself is a pretty cool guy. Would highly recommend him and the class.

I personally don't enjoy lectures every class period at 9:00 am because I will not be able to stay awake. But if you're really interested in plants and enjoy power points this is the class for you. He is very nice.

Harv is a great professor! Attendance does count for a grade, but he is such an interesting and passionate guy that going isn't a struggle, even if you've it got it early in the morning. There is no need for a textbook, didn't use it a single time. Easy points, and overall a great guy!

Take this advice. Harvey Ballard is by far the best professor i've ever had. Instead of giving out testsexams, he lets students learn the material in a more creative way. The only assignments he gives out are 8 slide Power points, and 2 paragraph plant reviews. No tests or quizzes.. just Power points which take less than 20 minutes.

Ohio Flora is probably the best class I have taken at here. I am a senior in wildlife conservation and he is the sole reason I picked up a plant biology minor. He also know his stuff and has a passion for plant biology in general. Take everyone of his classes offered you will not regret it... we love you harvey
