He does not explain what he means. a lot of what is written the syllabus is wrong and he expects you to be able to read his mind. don't take any classes with him.

He gave F to the whole class twice on our first two papers without guiding us on anything. All he said was "read your syllabus" and all those due date on the syllabus were "due 2014" and he's still using them until 2018

Sindima is not a good teacher. he is very ambiguous and he does not give good feedback on papers. He is probably the worst teacher I have had at college so far. He is not specific in his directions for assignments and is not welcoming to office hours. I was recommended to him from others, but that was a bad decision. I wouldnt take him again.

Prof. Sindima is a really knowledgeable person and knows the course material really well. It's discussion heavy and he makes everyone talk at least once every class. Him talking at you can get boring at times but overall he's amazing. Truly inspirational!

Professor Sindima was by far the worst professor I've ever had at Colgate. Our only assignments were 3, 10 page long research papers, which he gave 0 criteria for and graded extremely harshly. Class was boring and not worth taking AT ALL!!

This required class with him was terrible. He is extremely difficult to understand and has trouble getting across to students what he is expecting from papers and assignments. He is by far the worst professor I've ever had.

By far the worst professor I have taken a class with so far at Colgate. He has no idea how to teach, gives absolutely no direction for what he expects on papers, and used a majority of his own writings- which were full of typos, horrible grammar, and were largely incoherent- for the course readings. Do not take a class with him. Absolutely terrible

Extremely hard to understand. Sets a TON of reading that he expects you to know in detail and enforces with tests. Picks favorites, and least favorites. Hard grader (best on our midterms was a B+ by a long-shot). Mandatory attendance. Sets long papers. Extremely dry subject matter. DO NOT TAKE.

He was a notoriously easy grader in the early '90s. He might have caught some flack from the administration even. I guess he changed direction 180 degrees. The work load was always heavy. His classes were always engaging as long as one could handle the Marxist ideology. It sucked having to pay $60 to read 2 chapters of his self-published book.

Smartest, most involved professor I have ever come across in my life. Truly deserves all of the accolades he has received. Has trouble getting certain concepts across to students who can only learn one way, but if you are at all clever, perceptive, or intelligent his class should be an easy A if you talk in every class.

DO NOT ever take a class with this professor. Unless of course you want to be incredibly frustrated. He is not clear in what he expects from you on assignments and he does not give sufficient time to do the work. He clearly doesn't understand the meaning of a 200 level course, or the fact that we have other classes! Not many assignments though.

Looks to draw students into class discussion just to upset them. Obstinate in his prejudices. Never makes a clear assignment. Arbitrary and malevolent grader. The course is set to fail students who are not telepathic with him. In a class of 9 students, all 9 claim regretfulness.

He is a great guy and very smart but teaches with a one-sided mentality. His opinion is ALWAYS the right one, often avoids questions and makes things up to suit his argument. Grades very very hard, only allows between 1-2 weeks for 10-20pg research papers, tons of reading, etc but very interesting - if you don't need an A then *MIGHT be worthwhile

The most underrated professor at Colgate. He expects alot out of you but you learn an incredible amount. Opened my eyes to alot of things. By far my favorite professor. Can be intimidating but talking to him breaks down that barrier. Cool guy and easy to get along with. Highly recommended.

Very, very tough. The worst part is that it is almost impossible to figure out what he wants on an assignment, or even where we were on the syllabus. Lecture was interesting at times, but often his explanations were confusing or his lectures were off topic. Unless you want to be very fustrated, don't take his class.

My advisor freshman year and he was horrible...bad bad advisor...ok as a teacher but hard to read...standards are rediculous-- thinks his students are graduate students or going for their doctorate or something--- really unfair especially for first semester freshmen

everyone fails tests, no better than a c on papers, expects things his way but refuses to give more than vague assignments, intimidating, makes you feel dumb if he thinks u r wrong (aka not his views) i wanted to cry/drop several times. too much time to earn demeaning grades. gpa/confidence suicide
