I took a different class with Dr. Bittel in each of my first 4 semesters. She is the kind of person who wants you to succeed not only in her class, but just in general. Her classes are not easy, but she is always clear about what she wants and will give you the support you need if you're willing to ask, and you'll know you earned the grade you get.

I was seriously worried about this class before starting because I'm not an English person but she was so encouraging and helped so much through the revision process. She was always willing to go over a paper if you emailed it to her. She was also ready to hear your complaints about other classes and offer up advice. Definitely my favorite class!

Very helpful teacher. She made me really think about the topics that I was writing about. She was a bit over-enthusiastic but always invested her wholehearted attention to us. Nonstop writing, though, so be prepared to always be working on a paper.

I've taken three classes with Dr. Bittel so far, and I've loved all of them. She's a great teacher, and she cares about what she does. She's smart and has a good sense of humour. She makes the class interesting, no matter what it is. Can't recommend her highly enough.

Dr. Bittel is a really great teacher and you actually learn things from her. I had writing skills with her and we basically did nothing in class. As long as you do the homework and papers, your grade shouldn't be bad. A lot of her papers are also opinion based.

I took her for children's lit. and she was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She was very motivated and very well educated in the field she was teaching. I loved when she would tell us about her daughter and relate it to what we were learning!! She is awesome!!
