I took Dr. Friedland's special education class (online) for a graduate program and we had three group assignments ( two case studies and a group PowerPoint presentation). Then an online midterm and online final exam,responses to questions on Blackboard and weekly quizzes. I had no issues taking her class. If you do the work, you should be fine.

This teacher is adamant. She is unrealistic when giving assignments. Too much work and all projects are in groups. Group projects when taking online classes is very difficult. She times you for each quiz, and if you go over 10 minutes, she will deduct points. She monitors how many times you log into Blackboard and counts it as 25% of your grades.

Completely unrealistic and unethical expectations in today's teaching field. Friedland makes me wonder how long it's been since she taught in the real world. Most assignments are worthless busy work regurgitating textbook. She does not even respond when emailing for help. A waste of my hard earned money!

Course was challenging, the workload was commensurate with a Masters level course. Professor was very fair, follow the Rubrics and you will have no problem in this class. I highly recomend this Prof. and this class.

I think she is very knowledgeable and interesting. Class discussions and assignments are sometimes difficult but tend to bring out a higher quality product than i usually do. I agree that her course would be improved if she cut out a few journals and a paper.
