Intimidating at first, until you get to know him. Can pick on the weakest link in a lesson setting, but he has gotten better about it. Great, knowledgeable and experienced man. I learned SO much- but can go off topic at times. Great for flat work and over fences. If you don't take any classes with him, you are missing out. But expect to work hard.

Had him for riding lessons and the team. Scared the**** out of me at first, but turned out to be very nice. Learned things from him that I've never heard, even after riding for 14 years. Expects you to show up, work hard, but he's a teacher...they're kinda supposed to expect that of you.

Wicked nice guy! really knows his stuff about horses. Quizzes are pretty straightforward, but the material is kind of hard. lots of memorization, but if you study beforehand you'll be fine. I highly recommend him!

Terrible- he missed / canceled so many classes (without notice). When teaching about breeds he does not always know what he is talking about. When it comes to racehorses he knows nothing. I dont think that professors should teach things they are uneducated in, and he does. Good with unsoundness / diseases. Doesnt prepare for judging / lab properly.

I had Jerry for both riding and classroom classes and yeah, he can be demanding, if by demanding you mean expecting you to come to class. He is a very knowledgable person. All of his classes are amazing: if you want a future in horses you must take his classes: you can learn more from him than anyone else: I never wanted to miss one of his classes!

I've only had Jerry for a riding class, not a real classroom one, but he is an AMAZING riding trainer. not always the most approchable but once you get to know him you realize that if you have a problem he's always there for you. great great trainer

He was terrible. he didn't teach anything and he actually took adentance and grades you on it. he gives way too many quizes, and was extremly intimidating and moody. he was very unclear on how he wanted projects completed
