Good quality. He is a biophysics guy so taking him for elec and mag is really interesting when he goes off on little tangents. He was gone quite a bit during the quarter, but he really tried to make sure students understood the material.

DO NOT TAKE!!!! Quizzes and finals are ridiculously hard (2B level), lectures don't really help and there is almost no curve. Avoid him at all costs.

Took him for both B and C, very straightforward. Just make sure to stay caught up and you'll do fine. Quiz every other Friday, you get a cheat sheet with it. Finals tend to be a bit more difficult because he lets his TA's make them.

The quizes are pretty easy to do well on, most of the problems are examples he goes over in class. Most of the time u just copied the problems that he went over onto my cheat sheet and I got about average each time. The final was killer though. It was nothing like anythinghe gave us before. But I think he let the TAs write it.

I agree with the comment below in that this class is not HARD and a little studying will go a long way. I think the commenter below simply wanted to throw out the fact that they were studying for the MCAT.This class requires more specific knowledge whereas the mcat tests general concept knowledge.questions arent harder on the mcat bc they arent spe

Wow, there are alot of fail pre-meds in this class. Have fun not going to med school if you think this guy is hard. The MCAT physics questions are way harder than his quizzes. Hw is easier than his quizzes. honestly, write the formulas on your cheat sheet and you will get 6/8 at LEAST which is higher than the average of like 5.5/8.

Seriously how can you even say that the quizes are not like the homework? Of course the questions are not going to be exactly the same but they are very close and typically much easier than the related homework problem!

I don't know what one of the people below me were talking about but as far as I know, this 'friend' of levine taught the class ONCE. the quizz averages are 5/8. in doug smith, it was like 3 or even 2/8 so MUCH BETTER

not a good teacher. couldn't stand listening to lecture. allows cheat sheet but doesnt help except for looking at formulas. gives hw problems but they are not representative of quiz. should be an easy class but his format doesnt help and his quiz preps are no good. If you can don't take him class is not organized

hes one of the better physics teachers. after taking doug smith, he is like a god. all you have to do is read over chapter, make your cheatsheet, and do the homework problems. the quizzes are representable of the homework.. a lot!

He was one probably one of the most boring lecturers ive had at ucsd for physics so far. His quiizes and final were not really representative of the material because he would try to make it harder than it really should have been. He does aloww for cheat sheets but they werent really helpful during the quizzes and final. I would try to avoid.

the material is very dry for the class and he ALWAYS teaches at 8AM, which made going to class impossible. But he allowed 1 cheat sheet/quiz and 5 cheat sheets for the final. Not extremely good but not bad neither. Just another average physics professor

He is a pretty good physics prof. He allows one sheet of notes per quiz and typically all 5 quiz sheets can be used on the final. His lectures are helpful and he gives lots of explanation for things (sometimes too much!). I would recommend him to anyone looking for a simple, no-games professor.

I stopped going to lectures after the first quiz because it was pointless (and at 8am) Just read the book, do past quizzes, and hw if you have time and you should get an A. Plus you get cheat sheets, which is awesome. His review session for the final was pretty helpful too.

Not a bad lecturer. Write what he says out loud in addition to board notes. Look at quizzes from past years. Do the worked-out examples in the book. He gives you a cheat sheet and the answers to the book problems, which is very helpful.

I did a lot for this class but I didn't do well. I went to lecture, did all of his past quizzes from other quarters, read the chapter and did the hw. I guess it depends on ur ability to move equations around. He's a good lecturer though I felt sometimes his quizzes were tricky.
