Going in, I had a lot of interest in the material, but coming out, I was disappointed. She's very nice and knows her stuff, but lectures were generally dull and despite the fact that I did every bit of reading, I still didn't do well on the quizzes or tests. Extra credit and attendance helped me out, but really need this class if you take it.

Professor Hodgkins is great, she is very very helpful and understandable. Tests are not that bad, you just have to do the readings and take notes in class, there are lots of readings though.

one assignment after another... it never ends. Don't base your workload on the syllabus- there's always another assignment, presentation, or otherwise that you are responsible for. A grammar nazi. very nice and well-meaning but tough grader and expects you to devote all of your time to her class. i found it hard focus on the reading w/ the con

Lots of reading but discussions that were hardly worth attending. Attendance policy is all that kept me from staying home and reading, going only to the tests. Tests, i believe, are the high point of this class, providing several distinct opportunities to score points.

Dr. H. Hodgekins does not have an annoying voice at all in my oppinion. She is though an excellent speaker in every way. I thought this class was very hard so I worked for my A which is expected. She is an excellent and professional teacher. Don't take if you have a really heavy course load.

Challenging class but she was great and didnt end up being as hard as I expected! Also very interesting although her tone of voice is very annoying! Take the class its not bad at all... I got an A!
