Talks about random stuff, people leave cause we don't learn anything. Passed his essays with a 80. Dude is chill but is mediocre at times. Didn't want our names at all. Complains why people leave his class and passes us for showing up. Easy to pass his class. He talks about content that offended people but no one spoke out against it.

you have to write 5 separate essays about big world issues for this class. sometimes he does not show up. attending class is not necessary to pass, but you'll learn a thing or two. As for the essays, if you get something written, he'll pass you.

The class didn't really require attendance but it doesn't mean he was a lame prof. His views get you thinking and its an easy mark booster. You literally just spit your opinions about the world into 4 short and 1 medium essays and walk out with decent grades.

Not necessary to attend class. Not necessary to buy textbooks. I went to two classes and I did fine. For his LSO 230 class: two 1000 word essays for midterm two 1000 word essays for exam Research Paper Really.... don't go to class. His lectures are always off topic and extremely boring. You e-mail him your essays and he's an easy marker.

This teacher is amazing. It is the student body that is immature, clueless about current events and offer no intellectual input unless its pulled out of them. Mr. Doughty did a great job of showing me as a student, how disrespectful my peers are and I made efforts to let this teacher know I appreciate his knowledge and contribution to education

Self-taught class. NOTHING, which comes out of his mouth is relevant to what our assignments are based on. When referencing his books, it appears marks are deducted because you rely on another source other than your own analysis. Doughty does not reply to emails nor does he make himself clear in his emails. And he questions why people do not attend

Terrible teacher. Rambles on for the whole class not making anything he is saying clear or even relevant to the topic at hand. Is always negative and his class is a major buzzkill, I pay to learn not to sleep and I cant keep my eyes awake in his class. Easy class to fail at because you forget what goes on since youll probably never go back.

I agree, he just talks without the class's participation. Mostly because the students don't involve themselves, and sit on their thumbs. Show up, challenge his ideas and engage the discussion and one will find it far less boring. BTW, it's hard to be "wrong" and fail when all that is required is your opinion. IMO, students were mindless.

His lectures are pure ramblings......most people don't seem to want to come. But if you can write a basic essay......you'll pass this course. Essays are not research intensive. There is supposed to be lots of readings...not all chapters are essential.
